My brother had this except it was the unfortunate Apple Green with this wood grain adhesive. A three-speed manual, I had just got my permit and I drove it around the neighborhood for hours and hours. Actually fun.

I loved our little Pinto hatchback. Was it as fun as my Spridgets or Sunbeam Alpines? No, but it would carry 4 people and their luggage, handled pretty well, and was reliable af.

We had a white hatchback growing up in the late 70s. Whenever we went up a hill my mom would rub the top of the dash and plead, “Come on Nelly. You can make it.”
Parents sold it and bought a Honda Civic hatch. Sad to say, but everything about that Honda was 10x better than the Pinto.
