It has been five years since I began a total, frame-off restoration of my ’66 GTO which I’ve owned for 27 years. It took twice as long and cost twice as much to restore than I thought it would, but I’m so happy with how things turned out. Only things left to do are install the remainder of the badges & trim and the headliner. Going to be a fun summer!

It bothers me that so many people skip this step. Hell even manufacturers are putting out terrible paint. Look at all the orange peel in a modern dodge or jeep. I’ve never seen a jeep that you could see a halfway passable reflection on.

Hell yeah, I saw your post in the 64-67 Facebook group. My 66 is also about to head back to the shop for it’s wet sand and buff.

What did the paint job alone cost?
