bp are a potential takeover target, with ADNOC being the most recent company considering an acquisition of bp. I imagine bp are doing what they can to shore up their shareprice in response. Less cynically: it’s clear that EV growth is not proceeding at a pace they may have hoped for, and job cuts in their EV business are not a surprise. Tesla are also cutting jobs

Spreading FUD has been successful in slowing BEV adoption, no need to have a charging network to fall back on now.
