The BAZ Furgonet, or also called the Škoda Furgonette, was a prototype utility van derived from Škoda 105/120. It was designed and manufactured by BAZ (Bratislavské automobilové závody; Bratislava automotive works). Only four vehicles were ever made between 1982 and 1983.

Furgonet No. 1: the first working example, derived from the regular Skoda 120 L, was built in the summer of 1982. It was light green in colour and had a bonnet with quad headlights, taken from the 120 LS version. The load compartment was separated from the crew compartment only by a half-wall (pleated from floor to shoulder level, with a flexible net above). A window was located at the front of the superstructure. Later the car was repainted grey-blue. It is still awaiting restoration.

Furgonet No. 2: the first prototype was built in 1983. It was red and had an all-sheet body (without windows on the front and sides and with an opaque rear end), a pair of large round reflectors (the same as the Škoda 105 S type) and the first Škoda 742.12 engine (1174 cm³ / 38 kW, identical to the engine for Škoda 120 L cars), later Škoda 742.10 (1046 cm³ / 33 kW, identical to the engine for Škoda 105 L cars). The wall separating the passenger and cargo space was raised up to the cabin ceiling and equipped with a small window, resulting in better thermal and noise separation of both spaces. It served in the JZD Hustopeče and was carefully renovated around 2000, preserving its original red color.

Furgonet No. 3: the second prototype was also built in 1983, it was yellow-brown in color and had glazed side doors on both sides of the superstructure, i.e. it even had a five-door body and a removable second row of seats inside, so it was alternatively a five-seater, but between the front and rear rows the seats were a fixed partition just like the red prototype. The rear end was again glazed, but the front part of the superstructure was without a window above the cabin roof. At the front of the car were two oval headlights (identical to the Škoda 120 L type) and in the rear a Škoda 742.12X engine (1174 cm³ / 42 kW, identical to the engine for Škoda 120 LS cars). It is now refurbished and has a grille with four round headlights, instead of the original pair of oval ones.

Furgonet No. 4: the third prototype, green in colour, was built for BAZ’s in-house use, probably from leftover parts after the original three cars were sold off. However, this prototype is not mentioned in the official documents, which mention only 3 cars. In the late 1980s it was bought from the Bratislava Automobile Works by a gentleman who worked there. Thanks to this, this prototype still remained in Slovakia, but already in Dubnica nad Váhom, where after a few years of use it remained for about 20 years covered with a tarpaulin in the yard of the family house. In 2010 a group of young guys bought it for a symbolic price. Subsequently, they dismantled it and handed it over to a metal collector.

In the course of the tests, excellent driving characteristics were especially appreciated, thanks to the extension of the wheelbase and the rear track, the car had much better driving stability compared to a regular sedan. The problem, however, was the engine cooling, which was sufficient in normal operation, but could not meet the requirements of the relevant ČSN (Československé státní normy; Czechoslovak state standards) (with the exception of the red prototype with the Škoda 742.10 engine). However, the development of the car was forcibly stopped in the autumn of 1983, pointing to the ongoing development of the Škoda 781 (future Škoda Favorit), which was also supposed to have a van variation.

The practicality in the back must be limited by the engine
