another reason for the removal … in the uk if you have a wiper that doesnt work it’ll fail the MOT (road test), but if you don’t have one it won’t
A rear wiper is a very nice thing to have, especially on SUV’s and such, but if it was causing more practical problems than solving, i’d get rid of it too
When i have a rear wiper, it has to go. I never use it cause i dont like the visible clean circle on a dirty window.
I have a love/hate relationship with your removed wiper.
If it never worked and you didn’t really need it I think it’s a good mod.

I have removed them on my hatches before and often preferred it that way. Very rarely, if ever it’s cause inconvenience. So I support this 100%, looks clean af!
Rear wipers are useful, until they are not… Between couple hundred dollars in parts and labour, but couple bucks for a rubber plug…

As a fellow wagon driver (albeit Mercedes, not Subaru), I’ve gotta say that I use my rear wiper all the time and don’t know about this. That being said, if the old wiper was actually causing issues with rust I can understand why you’d get rid of it. Looks clean

Honestly I dig it, but then again I love those old wagons in general.
They can look so clean done right. High gloss paint and just a little bit lowered… looks beautiful.
