Musk is to blame- he fired the whole Supercharger engineering team *right when Tesla got all the auto manufacturers to change to Tesla’s plug.* Biggest unforced error of the decade so far.

>Tesla could be responsible for the holdup. In an interview with Yahoo Finance in early June, Ford CEO Jim Farley said, “We really appreciate working with Tesla,” but noted that the company is still waiting on 90,000 adapters: “I texted Elon last night. We’ll see what he says.”
The fact that Farley has to “text Elon” about this is evidence of either gross mismanagement or gross negligence on Tesla’s part. Both is more likely, considering all that’s happened recently.

>Ford and Rivian have struggled to meet demand for these adapters
So we have people blaming Tesla…..

Still waiting on my adapter.

Why didn’t they just subcontract Anker to mass produce these?

It’s Tesla and Musk’s poor planning, as usual.

Knew this was gonna be a problem when I submitted for my adapter, lemon law’d my car, couldn’t cancel the order, bought a new mach e, placed a new order in case my other got canceled due to no VIN tied to that account (new Mach E was in wife’s name), then received two notifications for adapters a few weeks later.
It’s not that I think excessive erroneous orders were placed, it’s that signs pointed to this being slapped together.

I was hoping to buy mine by now or get it with FordPass points.
Could not reserve one because the previous owner snagged it and it’s linked to VIN.

I’m surprised no one has commented that several owners have wrongly received 2 or 3 adapters… while the masses keep getting push backs and delays.

Do third party adapters work? Or do they have to use official ones?
