Why did luxury car brands stop including dividers between the front and back seats?

I was thinking about cars like this this https://i.imgur.com/YVBYhLF.jpeg, this https://i.imgur.com/huAKIG0.jpeg, this https://i.imgur.com/czvrDCt.jpeg or this https://i.imgur.com/9jFYLRe.jpeg.

Is it because wealthy individuals prefer to drive themselves nowadays? If so, why would someone purchase a Mercedes-Maybach S680 if they plan to drive it personally? Wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a Bentley Continental GT or a Rolls-Royce Spectre? This is especially puzzling given that many tuning companies offer VIP vans (https://klassen.de/mercedes-benz-v-class-mve-9658-v-class-11936493) and stretched limousines (https://klassen.de/mercedes-benz-maybach-state-limousine-10375839) with dividers between passengers and drivers. The sole OEM presently offering VIP vehicles with dividers is Lexus (https://www.lexus.co.uk/new-cars/lm).

I would say part of the answer is they still do. Just look at Mercedes Pullman-line. You’re comparing bottom of the line, basically base models of today to the top, almost bespoke, models offered at the time.
