BYD Han: All-electric executive saloon from China

BYD, which stands for ‘Build Your Dreams’, is a Chinese car brand that has just launched in the UK with its all-electric cars. While many people in the UK may not have heard of BYD, it is actually a massive Chinese corporation that has been around for over 27 years. The company produces a wide range of products, from batteries, buses, trains, and forklift trucks to now, cars. The company employs around 300,000 people worldwide, making it one of the largest corporations you may have never heard of.

The first car that BYD is offering in the UK is the Atto 3, an all-electric crossover hatchback. This car, meanwhile, is the Han, a large all-electric saloon car that rivals the Tesla Model S and BMW i4. It’s not available in the UK right now, we might see it later on down the line after it’s been facelifted. The Han has an official range of 321 miles and costs around 75,000 Euros in other parts of Europe.
Vicky Parrott, CarGurus UK’s resident electric car expert, recently got the opportunity to have an exclusive early drive of the Han and got to experience its practicality, quality, technology, and performance.

BYD is a new player in the UK car market, and even though the Han is an impressive car, it really has its work cut out because it’s a rival for some of the best electric vehicles on the market, cars such as the Tesla Model S and BMW i4. If it is ever released in the UK, it will be interesting to see how it does.
