The NEW Honda CR-V 2023 Plug-In Hybrid! STYLISH Family SUV

It seems as though each car is getting a new and better generation, and Honda has not been left behind. The Honda CR-V is now entering its sixth generation and looks as good as ever. With this new generation, Honda has decided to follow the trend of other automakers. As other automakers are upgrading their cars, they are now including hybrid options, which will give the car an additional electric engine part. All this is done with the aim of reducing the dependence on fuel and conserving the environment. And on that same note, the Honda CR-V has not been left behind.

And with that, let’s find out more about the 2023 Honda CR-V hybrid.
The 2023 Honda CR-V has kicked off into its sixth generation, and it is looking better than it was before. The compact SUV now comes with a bunch of improvements. Some of the major ones, as you will find out, are that it is larger overall, has sportier and fresher exterior styling, and has a roomier interior with a more refined design and fancier features.
According to Honda, it has retuned the standard turbo-four engine to be both more responsive and efficient. Not only that, but Honda has also claimed to improve the continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and all-wheel-drive system. They are now much better than the outgoing model.
On the other hand, the Sport and Sport Touring only come with the hybrid powertrain. This powertrain combines a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder with two electric motors. These motors combine to give about 204 horsepower.
The hybrid models are said to have enough power to tow about 1000 pounds for the first time. The one thing that the CR-V lacks, and Honda needs to look into this, are the handling thrills like the ones found in the Mazda CX-50 and the Volkswagen Tiguan. However, even though it does not have this, the 2023 Honda CR-V will still give you a smooth ride and enough moxie to avoid being boring.
As we have seen, the 2023 Honda CR-V comes with two powertrains. There is the 1.5-liter gas engine that gives off 190 horsepower, and the turbocharged 2.0-liter hybrid engine that comes with two electric motors and gives off about 204 horsepower.
The most fuel-efficient CR-V is the front-wheel-drive Hybrid Sport. This car has achieved 43 mpg in the city and 36 mpg on the highway. However, these figures are released by Honda, so the car has yet to go through some testing in the real world.
According to Honda, the front seats are designed to ensure that the driver does not get too tired, especially on long trips. To ensure this, the new CR-V has a new and improved driving position. Between the two front seats is a large center console bin. Behind the front seats are reclining back seats. There is an additional 0.6 inches of rear legroom as compared to the previous generation of the CR-V. In addition to that, there is also 36 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row.
Even with the Honda CR-V’s having newfound torque, Honda is very confident in positioning it as a performance-oriented powertrain. And not only that, but Honda has also priced it accordingly. The Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport comes at a reasonable starting price of $33,695.
As such, the hybrid part of the CR-V comes in only two trims.
Both hybrid trims are fitted with the full suite of Honda Sensing driver-assist tech. However, only the CR-V Sport Touring comes standard with all-wheel-drive.
Speaking of safety, the 2023 Honda CR-V is a pretty safe vehicle. The 2023 Honda CR-V is now equipped with improved front airbags and new second-row side airbags. The CR-V hybrid can expect to maintain its multi-year streak of IIHS Top Safety Pick and NHTSA five-star overall safety scores.
There is no better way to save on gas than with a hybrid. But even better is not using any fuel at all. Even though the 2023 CR-V Hybrid is expected to be frugal, you will still have to fill it up regularly. However, this is not the case with its rival, the Toyota RAV4. The RAV4 Prime is a plug-in hybrid that allows all-electric driving for about 42 miles. And with this, will Honda respond to the competition and release a plug-in hybrid of the CR-V Hybrid? We have yet to find out, but we hope they will release such a variant at some point in their production.
