TINY MISTAKES, EXCELLENT PACKAGE! – Hyundai Tucson Plug-In Hybrid – Review

The Hyundai Tucson is known as one of the best compact SUVs on the market, but today we want to find out how this Hyundai Tucson Hybrid Ultimate AWD compares to the other segment leaders, such as the Mazda CX-50, Kia Sportage, and Mazda CX-5. Equipped with a 1.6L Inline-4 which is mated to a front electric motor and a 13.8 kWh battery, this Hyundai Tucson PHEV produces up to 187 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque in addition to offering about 50 km of pure electric range.

Add the usually-great Hyundai tech suite and a comfortable interior into the mix and you have all the ingredients necessary for a potentially class-leading compact SUV. Especially, considering that Mazda still has no compact SUV hybrid offering. Priced at $48,424.00 CAD here in Canada, can the Tucson outshine the competition in the usual Hyundai fashion? And will it be better than it’s brother, the Kia Sportage? Find out in today’s review!
