The EV SUV you need? 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) review

Is the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV (Plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) the hybrid SUV you should be buying right now? In this review, you’ll find out!

Richard Berry lived with a petrol Mitsubishi Outlander for four months earlier this year, and he loved plenty of elements of the car. But one thing that wasn’t as good as he’d hoped for was the fuel consumption.

He was averaging 10 litres per 100 kilometres – which, when petrol prices were more affordable, wouldn’t have been such an issue. But these days, it costs a lot to keep up the juice at that consumption level.

So, he was the perfect candidate to drive the new plug-in hybrid version of the Outlander, which has a claimed fuel consumption of just 1.5 litres per 100km! That’s because it relies on a battery and electric motors to do most of the hard work, and you can recharge it from a powerpoint at home.

With up to 84km of EV range, it means the 2023 Outlander Plug-in Hybrid EV is a great option for people who normally do what Richard was mainly doing with the petrol Outlander he had – urban trips, school drop-offs, and the usual errand running.

Is the new-generation Outlander PHEV the best Mitsubishi Outlander you can buy? Watch this review to see what Richard thinks!
