Assistance systems can only support the driver with the task of driving within the limits of each individual system. Crossing assist can help with the task of driving at up to approximately 30 km/h, depending on the situation. However, the driver always remains responsible for driving the vehicle and is required to be attentive. Crossing assist is an additional equipment item at extra charge.

Crossing assist does not respond to people and cannot alert the driver to all approaching objects, such as cyclists. The system is unable to respond to vehicles approaching at very high speed. You should therefore keep the traffic situation and your surrounding directly under observation. The brake jolt is no substitute for a full brake application where that is needed to avoid a possible impending collision altogether.
