Recurrent uses battery performance reports to give people confidence when buying and driving electric cars. Odometers are less informative for electric motors because mileage is not a leading indicator of overall battery health.

While a legacy combustion engine has 2,000 moving parts, an electric motor has 2 dozen. The most important and expensive part of any EV is the battery, and it’s literally a black box. Battery reports from Recurrent make EV performance, value and range over time more transparent.

Types of Reports:
EV owner reports – analyze daily battery data from that vehicle and compared to thousands of similar vehicles. After authenticating once, owners receive updated reports the first week of each month.

One-time reports – are designed for EV shoppers or vehicles without telematics. These are a snapshot – a moment in time – that rely more on modeled and comparison data.

Dealer reports – are Recurrent’s only paid product. Car dealers can connect to the platform and create reports in bulk for each car on their lot.
The reports are not designed to be the definitive solution to battery health, which would include things that are not accessible to the average car buyer, like chemical testing in a lab and onboard devices. Recurrent reports are designed to answer the three most common question that we hear from EV owners and buyers:

What is the actual, real-world battery range?
How will that change in different conditions, like summer or winter?
What will that range be 3 years from now?

Common Uses:
Monitoring an EV battery each month to look for fluctuations or make adjustments in charging behavior to preserve the battery.
Commanding a higher trade-in value because electric cars with good batteries are shown to sell for higher prices.
Picking a used EV because the dashboard’s estimated range is not accurate.
Deciding to buy a lease after the lease term or give the car back.
