Trickle-Down EV Owner Economics Doesn’t Work

In our recent videos on affordable and used EV ownership, we’ve tackled some of the best electric cars you can buy if you’re on a budget (because they’re still well-supported by their respective automakers) –

We’ve also covered why we think there’s a lot of gatekeeping in the EV repair industry – – but today we’re focusing on something that we’re regularly told in the comment section:

“EVs aren’t expensive, and trickle-down economics will make EVs affordable for those who can’t buy new.”

While trickle down economics can work for vehicles that are well-supported and looked after, EVs dramatically challenge that ownership model, not because of reliability – but because of a lack of affordable, accessible parts and repair techniques.
