‘Dooring’ incidents occur when drivers accidentally open the doors of their vehicles into the path of other road users, often in busy cities with large numbers of commuters, delivery drivers, and other road users.
To help prevent this, Ford is introducing Exit Warning. The innovative technology uses external sensors and radar to identify when opening the door may cause a collision, and activates LED indicators on the door mirrors, plus a visual alert on the dashboard.
Exit Warning will be available on the 2024 International Van of the Year, all-new Transit Custom, as well as the new Tourneo Custom, new Mustang, electric Explorer – coming to further Ford vehicles in 2024.
