The tests continued day after day. The name of the system is DIRECT4. DIRECT4 is an automatically controlled all-wheel drive system that provides optimum drive force to the four wheels according to driving situation and environmental changes. The next generation steering system worthy of a battery EC was being developed parallel to DIRECT4.
That system was called steer by wire. The biggest feature of steer by wire is that the steering wheel and tyres are not mechanically connected and the tires are controlled through electronic signals.
