Not every day do you get to play in towns like Park City. So any excuse to come and do what you do in a town like this is pretty awesome. Pulling in, it’s like there’s that feeling of excitement. You know, we’ve been on the road traveling, doing this for over a decade now.

You learn how to kind of surrender to the long drives. You just try to enjoy it and make the most of it, and have as much fun as you can. It definitely influences our music and inspires us to write. All these songs come not from sitting in your living room.

They’re from living life out here doing what we do. So when we pull into an area like Park City, of course there’s great things that you can do in town, great restaurants, stuff like that. But not every town, like Park City, has all the stuff

Surrounding it, all the vast area that we can go explore. So if we have time and we go try to, you know, get some hiking in or just be outside and things that you can’t do every day in any other town. We love the outdoors, any chance we can get.

You know, we’re all dads, so we try to be outside with our kids as much as possible. Introduce them to things like fishing and just being outside and not in front of a screen or something. It’s very important to all of us.

But yeah, any chance we can get, whether it’s throw a frisbee or you get a day off in a beach town or something, you’ve got to go and just draw in that sun and the energy and have as much fun as you can.

And then do your job, pack up, and go to the next town. There’s three main writers in this band, and we write together, we write individually, but we don’t disagree on much musically. We have a lot of obvious influences, so we kind of draw from all sides—

From the blues, country, rock ‘n’ roll. You know, some of our favorite records and bands, they’ve been around since the ’50s/’60s, and they still sound just as good today, if not better than they did originally. So for us, we really wanted to make records and write songs that were kind of timeless, classic.

You know, it’s not always easy. In fact, it’s not easy a lot of times, but it is what we set out to do when we were kids. And we’ve achieved a lot and we know we’re not going anywhere anytime soon.

Check out a special interview with Nashville country rockers The Wild Feathers, plus a live performance of their hit “Out On The Road,” filmed at The Cabin in downtown Park City, Utah.
