Foreign and we’re here today to learn a little bit about Banda Builders an amazing charity that brings together Builders and Tradesmen in order to help families in need so we’re really excited to be meeting some of the guys today finding out how they got involved Gavin yes hi mate Jamie Camilla nice to meet you just Builders work so we work by unite in the construction industry and bring together trade volunteers who give up their time and skills to complete these projects how did the idea of vanderbuilders start back in 2016 I
Found a wanted a support friend and colleague of his that had been diagnosed with with terminal cancer so a team of volunteers made those home improvements at Keith’s home and the Willing desire was there to really continue and help more people within the construction industry how do you find your volunteers
We generally find the volunteers through social media obviously posting across all the different platforms and through tradequest their motivations vary and are very different across across the trades people but I think everyone’s kind of been on a journey have led them on this path to helping other people so
We understand you’ve just started partnership with Citroen what does that entail and what benefits does that bring you the businesses provided the charity with with two commercial vehicles now some great branding certainly helped raise awareness of what we do and how we support members of the industry but obviously support these projects by
Carrying materials and just really help raise the profile abandon Builders what is the project we’re here for today so we’re at Luke’s project in Woodbridge Suffolk unfortunately and sadly three years ago when Luke was 17 he suffered a catastrophic brain aneurysm which left him profoundly disabled so by carrying
Out these Works building this extension allows them to return home for the first time in three years another people get we obviously encourage people to find us on on social media and then either on our website and sign up get involved and if they can support in any way whether that be volunteering
Donation fundraising for us yeah please do well we’d love to get involved today wouldn’t we should we go get stuck in let’s do it sounds good I am admiring my work I’m just not admiring yours this bit is perfection what inspired you guys to volunteer your time it’s been able to make a difference I’ve got skill and I can put it to use and someone else can benefit from it
It’s only work so you give a bit back in life and whatever it just makes you feel good obviously in your outside job sometimes you’ll probably work alone right how different is it working as a real big group very big change for me because I do work on my own to come here
You have a laugh such a laugh for the guys 80 of the volunteers you’ve never met before but after after a day everyone’s having to laugh at each other yeah yeah it’s great well guys thanks so much for having us around here I hope we didn’t get in your way too much yeah

Citroën UK have provided Dispatch vans, helping Band of Builders support and expand its charitable work across the country. Projects taken on by Band of Builders range from the installation of ramps to improve accessibility, through to full home renovations and landscaping projects to support the needs of beneficiaries.
The Citroën Dispatch vans will allow the charity to transport materials and equipment to sites across the country, and further support the reach of the charity’s work.
