Audi Tech Tutorial: Traffic Sign Recognition
The available audi traffic sign recognition feature can identify certain traffic signage within the camera’s field of view the camera is located on the back side of the rear view mirror system availability may be limited due to poor visibility snow rain sun glare or by anything that might impede the camera’s field of view
The system will display recognized signs in the instrument cluster and if activated also in the head-up display the system will display up to three recognized traffic signs in the instrument cluster at once in the reduced cluster view only the speed limit sign will appear recognizable symbols that indicate speed limits in school zones
Highways construction zones or at night may be displayed in addition to standard speed limit signs the system will also detect exit and entry ramp speed limit do not pass and no turn on red signs when speed limit assist is enabled and adaptive cruise assist is active as
A new speed limit zone is detected the adaptive cruise assist will automatically adjust to the appropriate speed to enable speed limit assist press the driver assistance button then go to settings adaptive cruise assist then predictive control and set speed limit assist on similarly a traffic sign based speed warning can be enabled
To enable select settings and then speed warning and traffic sign based warning threshold choose the speed differential at which you wish the warning to occur once active the currently detected speed limit will be displayed with an exclamation point and will flash briefly if the chosen threshold is exceeded
To turn off the head up display view of traffic sign recognition press the head up display icon then in display contents touch the arrow on the right from here you can disable traffic sign recognition you
