How To Use BMW Connected Home Charging

You’re in charge. The BMW Connected Home Charging Package lets you control and optimize home charging with your My BMW App. Easily shopped and set up: Our dedicated video shows you how. Let’s go with your BMW plugged in! In the My BMW App go to “Charging”

And select “BMW Wallbox” to jump to Connected Home Charging services. In the central dashboard, you can get an overview of the status of your wallbox, ongoing charging processes, and which optimization features are activated. “Load optimized charging” is always on. It automatically balances available power in your household –

in case of high electricity demand from other devices. This way your BMW Wallbox Plus supplies as much power as possible for charging – without excessive power usage. “Solar-optimized charging” saves costs by using less electricity from the grid.

Instead, all solar power your panels produce – if not needed somewhere else in the household – is used to charge your car. Without available solar power, you’ll get basic charging power from the grid. If you need maximum grid charging power, you can always de-activate solar-optimized charging.

You can also turn on or off the access control of your wallbox. Select “Statistics” to monitor previous charging by week, month or year. See the performance of your wallbox, the use of different energy sources and charging times. Enjoy efficient Connected Home Charging comfort
