Start/Stop System
Foreign Volkswagen start stop system can help improve your gas mileage by briefly shutting off the engine when the vehicle is stopped get fast access to the start stop feature by adding it to your quick access menu first swipe down tap and hold an existing favorite until you see additional options then drag
Start stop to your preferred spot in the quick access menu Or access start stop via the vehicle widget on your home screen to add the vehicle widget tap hold and highlight an empty or existing widget then select vehicle from the bottom of the screen from there you can press the start stop icon to activate or deactivate for start stop to work properly
Make sure the driver’s side door and vehicle hood are closed the driver is buckled in your vehicle is in park neutral or drive your steering wheel isn’t turned and there’s no trailer hitch to your vehicle box is checked nice start stop is ready to do its thing when stopping press and
Hold the brake pedal once the engine shuts off you’ll see the start stop indicator in the digital cockpit take your foot off the brake or turn the steering wheel and the engine will restart if start stop is engaged the engine is off and the driver unbuckles
The seat belt or opens the door the engine will stay off and the electronic parking brake will engage close the driver door and re-fasten the seat belt within 30 seconds and start stop will re-engage select d and press the accelerator to restart the engine and release the parking brake
Keep in mind certain conditions can affect the system like the inside or outside temperature inclines and elevation and engine temp or battery charge should conditions prevent activation and the engine is still running you’ll see a slash through the indicator several Short Stops can also deactivate start stop temporarily
