2024 Toyota RAV4 vs 2024 Honda CR-V | Toyota

– [Narrator] The 2024 Toyota RAV4 versus the 2024 Honda CR-V. Let’s learn a bit more about these small SUVs. Featuring an expansive lineup with gas and hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid electric grades, as well as off-road and sport oriented models, RAV4 is all about the power of choice. Thanks to Toyota Safety Sense,

RAV4 makes advanced driver assistance and active safety features standard on all grades. Eye-catching exterior colors and grade-specific design cues give every RAV4 a distinct look. Now let’s put RAV4 and CR-V side by side. RAV4 is available in nine grades with the choice of three different powertrains. That includes seven hybrid EV grades and two plug-in hybrid EV grades, all of which come with standard all-wheel drive. For 2024 RAV4 gains two new exterior colors for the Woodland Edition, Adventure and TRD Off-Road grades:

Army Green, which is available in single or two-tone, and Ice Cap with Midnight Black Metallic roof. CRVs lineup expands to six grades for 2024 with the addition of the Sport L variant. Both gas and hybrid powertrains are offered, as is all-wheel drive. RAV4’s rugged exterior styling comes with standard LED exterior lighting, as well as as available roof rails on all grades except LE. TRD Off-Road and Woodland Edition further enhance RAV4’s versatility thanks to their standard raised roof rails, which also include crossbars on the latter. Available two-tone exterior color combinations

Allow this stylish SUV to stand out even more, while an available power/tilt slide moonroof or panoramic glass roof brings the outside in. TRD off-Road and Woodland Edition raise RAV4’s designs to new heights with their 18-inch TRD alloy wheels in Matte Black and Bronze finishes respectively. Moreover, Limited, Adventure grades,

And gas XLE Premium grades include 19-inch alloy wheels, giving RAV4 an even more distinct look. Finally, the available hands-free power liftgate adds flexibility when loading cargo. LED exterior lighting is also standard on CR-V, but roof rails are only available on the Sport, Sport-L, and Sport Touring. A power moonroof is available,

But CR-V has no answer to RAV4’s panoramic glass roof. Both 18 and 19 inch wheels are available – they’re finished in silver-color or gloss black depending on the grade. A power lift gate is available as well, but only the Sport Touring gets hands-free capability. Inside, RAV4 is all about comfort

And that starts with the available SofTex-trimmed seats. On the other hand, the available dual-zone automatic climate control allows passengers to set their ideal temperature, while available heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats enhance passenger comfort. Furthermore, RAV4 Prime can be equipped with a 1,500-watt AC power outlet in the cargo area,

Allowing owners to use the vehicle for short-term power supply. Meanwhile, the cargo area delivers 69.8 cubic feet behind the front seats and up to 37.6 cubic feet behind the second row. CR-V also prioritizes comfort – select grades feature leather-trimmed seating and dual-zone automatic climate control. But unlike RAV4, CR-V is only available

With heated front seats on the EX grade and up. Heated rear seats and a 1500-watt AC power outlet are not available on any grade. In terms of cargo capacity, CR-V has 76.5 cubic feet behind the front seats and 39.3 cubic feet behind the second row. RAV4 comes standard with a new Toyota Audio Multimedia System featuring either an 8-inch or an available 10.5-inch touchscreen. This latest Audio Multimedia platform includes standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages, podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless Android Auto compatibility makes it

Easy to stay connected to Android devices and access various apps and services from Google including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Plus, there’s a standard 3-month SiriusXM Platinum Plan trial subscription that includes over 165 channels available in-cabin – and even more on the SXM mobile app,

Making it easier than ever to enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy and more. RAV4 can be equipped with an available 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio system for a crystal clear listening experience. On top of that, an available 12.3-inch fully digital Multi-Information Display and 10-inch color head-up display keeps

Relevant driving information in the driver’s line of sight. Plus RAV4 also works seamlessly with Toyota’s available Connected Services, including trials on select grades for Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, Drive Connect, and Wi-Fi Connect. Honda’s latest multimedia interface is standard on CR-V but comes with a smaller seven-inch touchscreen on LX,

EX and Sport grades. A nine-inch touchscreen is available only on EX-L, Sport-L, and Sport Touring. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are standard, but wireless integration is limited to the top three trims. Additionally, only the range-topping Sport Touring can be equipped with the 12-speaker Bose Premium Audio system. CR-V only has a seven-inch

Digital Instrument Cluster Screen, and a head up display isn’t available at all. Safety is a top priority with RAV4, as it is with all Toyota vehicles. This is why it includes standard Toyota safety Sense 2.5 on gas and hybrid grades, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ on RAV4 Prime. These active safety suites include advanced features like a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection,

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is available on all grades for added convenience on the road. Finally, the available Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking

And Panoramic View Monitor makes it even easier to maneuver in highly congested areas and tight spaces. Every 2024 CR-V comes standard with Honda Sensing, which includes features that are similar to Toyota Safety Sense. Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Monitor is also available on the EX grade and up,

While front and rear parking sensors are offered only on the EX-L, Sport-L, and Sport Touring. Unlike RAV4, the CR-V lineup isn’t available with a feature that’s similar to the Panoramic View Monitor. Whether in gas or electrified form, RAV4’s performance stands out. The standard four-cylinder gas engine has 203 horsepower, while RAV4 Hybrid EV produces 219 net combined horsepower. What’s more, RAV4 Prime plug-in Hybrid EV offers drivers an impressive 302 net combined horsepower. Meanwhile, Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive and

Multi-Terrain Select are also available on select grades, as is a tow rating of up to 3,500 pounds. RAV4 hybrid EV also includes a Trail mode, which controls braking, drive force control, and the Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive System, enabling it to operate similarly to a vehicle with front, rear, and center limited-slip differentials,

Enhancing traction when conditions require it. On top of that, the Woodland Edition and TRD Off-Road grades come with a TRD-tuned suspension for improved capability when the pavement ends. And should agile handling be desired, RAV4 has that front coverd too thanks to the standard sport-tuned suspension on Hybrid SE

And Hybrid XSE. RAV4 is also impressively efficient, with up to an EPA-estimated 30 miles per gallon combined rating in gas grades. RAV4 hybrid EV, on the other hand, has up to an EPA-estimated 39 miles per gallon combined rating. Finally, RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid EV has an EPA-estimated 94 MPGe combined rating

And 42 miles in EV-only mode. CR-Vs gas grades are powered by a 190-horsepower 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while hybrid variants use a 2.0-liter hybrid four-cylinder with 204 net combined horsepower. However, CR-V doesn’t have an answer to RAV4 TRD Off-Road and RAV4 Prime. On the other hand, all-wheel drive is available across the lineup.

Additionally, CR-V is rated to tow up to 1,500 pounds in its gas grades, or 1,000 pounds in its hybrid variants. In terms of efficiency, CR-Vs grades are rated up to an EPA-estimated 30 miles per gallon combined, while hybrid grades are rated up to an EPA-estimated 40 miles per gallon combined. RAV4 has been recognized by NHTSA, who awarded it with the 2023 5-star overall safety rating. RAV4 was also named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Continuing the theme of overall value, RAV4’s hybrid EV and plug-in hybrid EV grades feature an 8-year or 100,000-mile hybrid system warranty,

Whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile battery warranty, whichever comes first, making them viable choices for the long-term. Plus, every new RAV4 comes with ToyotaCare, which provides two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, of scheduled maintenance, as well as two years and unlimited mileage 24-hour roadside assistance.

CR-V earned a 2023 Top Safety Pick Plus award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. It also comes with Honda Service Pass, which includes 2 years or 24,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first. CR-Vs hybrid grades also include an 8-year or 100,000-mile hybrid battery warranty, whichever comes first.
