When you get to a place like Park City and it just evokes the beauty like it does, I don’t have to try hard to sort of find serenity, find peace, or try to be creative. I just have to open my eyes. I have this opportunity to play

Shows and people are coming, and it’s this exchange of energies. And so they’re giving me what their world is like, and I’m giving them where I’m coming from. It’s sort of this exchange of information and exchange of love, and it’s always completely different. I love it all because it always changes me.

Going from one place to another, you don’t find a center a lot of times. And so I feel like finding that center means I have to immerse myself in the city as quickly as possible. Sit down and just feel like this is me,

And then start to imagine what would it be like if I was from this city? What would it be like if this is where I called home? What would I be doing? And that’s how I sort of get myself to be grounded, is by doing that.

I went to my first concert when I was 25. Didn’t really do anything musically. I’m at this place right now where I’m doing my history and I’m tracing back a legacy, so I’m doing my homework while on the road.

So it’s definitely a lot more oldies, but I’ll try to catch someone new that I haven’t heard that’s out there right now and doing their thing. If I’m playing a festival, I’ll check out all the artists and listen to it and sort of cheer them on.

And so that’s sort of how I’m infusing music on the road. I’m just sharing my story with my music. And so I just want to be as authentically myself as possible. And if I love it, then someone else will. And I’m going to find my tribe.

And that’s sort of how I go about my creativity. I am very big on faith and I think that everything has a purpose. And so being out in nature is very much another thing that keeps me fueled, that gives me energy, that gives me that creativity that I need or feeds the inspiration.

My philosophy is one foot in front of the other and brick by brick. I just want to be the best me that I can be. And we’ll see what happens.
