2024 Lexus UX250h Review | 45 MPG’s!

2024 Lexus UX250h Review | 45 MPG’s!

What is up you guys welcome back to another one if you’re new to the channel I am gold py I do new car trk SUV reviews on YouTube and today we’re in the brand new 2024 Lexus ux 250 hybrid courtesy of Bobby Ray Hall Lexus in mechanicburg PA for more information on

Their inventory please feel free to check out the link in the description box below it’s so yes I just reset the trip we’re going to be testing out the MPGs in this thing today and this is a hybrid only option from Lexus so I definitely wanted to check it out be

Getting into hybrids lately for some reason you got legendary reliability of course as well as Toyota and Lexus of course are known for so ultimately in this video we will be testing out and going over everything about this one from acceleration to braking steering field ride quality sound system exhaust

Clip all that fun stuff so having said all of that what do you guys say let’s just go ahead and jump right into it and as always let’s start with pricing and so as you can imagine there are a few different trim levels for the 2024 Lexus

Ux 250 hybrid first one being the base starting at $36,900 which is by the way is only a $200 bump from the 2023 model year which is unheard of these days let me tell you guys premium which is the one we are in today starting at $39,100 fport design

For $39,100 in the F Sport handling going for $44,100 by the way that was all pricing for the front-wheel drive config uration if you wanted to add all-wheel drive you can do that simply add $1,400 then to any of those prices but regardless of trim level that you go with the power

Plant on the ux 250 hybrid is going to be the same powering the Little Beast is a 2 L ainson cycle 4cylinder with two electric motors putting out a combined 181 horsepower at 6,000 RPM 221 lb feet of torque coming in at 3,000 RPM again set to front wheels or all Wheels

Through a continuously variable transmission 0 to 60 time approxim imely 8.4 seconds for the front wheeel drive 8.6 seconds then for the all-wheel drive top speed if you’re interested comes in at 110 M hour with MPG numbers coming in at 43 in the city 41 on the highway for

The front-wheel drive 41 City 38 then on the highway for the all-wheel drive taking regular unleaded fuel so before we do any kind of fun acceleration test here in our ux I wanted to mention you guys the drive modes so there’s a little drive mode stock located just above the

Gauge cluster there that will give you drive modes like normal e Sport and EV adjusting things like the throttle response the steering sensitivity the all-wheel drive system engagement and actually the gauge colors as well I just put it in sport driving mode it’s kind of red and white Hues now but anyways

Did want to mention one thing before we do this acceleration test real quick is that paddle shifters are available for the f- sport handling only they come standard on that particular trim level obviously with us not having that trim level we don’t have them with us here

Today so there won’t be a paddle shifter test but having said that what do you guys say let’s go ahead and find a straight away let’s put the acceleration here to the test on the ux and let’s see how quickly we can get this one here up to speed all right founder straightway

Here let’s go ahead and put us in sport driving mode in three 2 1 go it’s fun it’s one of those things you get used to for sure so I personally don’t have any issues with it having said that it’s not the biggest thing in

The world 0 to 60 in 8.6 seconds is certainly not fast by any means but I did like the initial pep because it’s a hybrid that’s traditionally what you do get with hybrid because the electric motors kick in first you don’t have any kind of Turbo lag or anything like that

Because it’s obviously not turbocharged so I do like that initial pep that would do really good around city streets uh but as far as acceleration goes again it’s not the quickest but that’s fine you’ll get used to it but to go along with that acceleration as always braking

Is equally important so up front you will find 12in ventilated front discs in the back 11.1 in solid rear disc as far as that 60 stopping distance goes that comes at a very impressive 117 ft that is a sport sedan number as far as braking field goes let’s just it’s fine

Definitely brings you to an immediate stop so absolutely no issues when it comes to the braking feel on the ux then touching on suspension and handling of front you’re going to get an independent mcer strut front suspension and actually exact same thing in the back independent multi-link rear suspension gas

Pressurized shock absorber if you were to go with the f- sport handling you also get an Adaptive damping suspension that’s pretty cool didn’t expect that but that essentially monitors each shock absorber individually not only adjusting to the rot of Perfections giving you a smoother Rod but it also tightens up the

Suspension during heavy cornering really giving you the best of both worlds a better handling there as well so if you wanted the best ride quality go with that f- sport handling because it’s also going to give you the best handling as well but overall as far as ride quality

Goes I will say it’s not as smooth as the TX 350 I just got driving so you do tend to feel a little bit more of the road it’s nothing that will personally bother me but um it’s not bad it’s just you can feel a little bit more of the

Road I’ll just say that as far as steering field goes it does adjust depending upon the drive mode that you put it in I actually have it in Eco driving mode right now though and it’s not that bad it actually still tends to lean a little bit more in the heavier

Side of things so I actually do like the steering fi here in the ux no issues there as far as cabon noise goes we’re going 43 mph according to the head-up display I’m looking at we’ll get to that in a second but yeah as far as noise goes it’s actually perfectly fine there

Isn’t a heck of a lot of exterior wind noise or road noise coming into the cabin so yet again no issues there touching on rear visibility I can see perfectly fine out the back the headrests are kind of big but otherwise it’s a smaller vehicle so you really

Shouldn’t have any issues when it comes to rear visibility but we ins sensing windshield wipers in terms of forward visibility do come standard on the premium trim level end up so it’s going to detect any kind of M or rainfall and automatically turn on your windshield

Wipers for it and if you wanted a head up display like I’m C currently looking at um IT projects your speed speed limit and safety features up onto your windshield that is available option that goes for $900 so it doesn’t come on any particular term level but it’s going to

Be available if you wanted to Fork out another $900 but that pretty much RS out the performance segment of this review you guys let’s not go ahead and take a look at the exterior of our brand new 2024 Lexus 250 hybrid I’m also going to tell you guys how many miles per gallon

We ended up with at the very beginning portion of that exterior segment of this review all right so here she is you guys the new 2024 Lexus ux 250 hybrid finished in cloudburst Gray so as promised as far as the MPGs go my short little 10m drive at least I did manage

To get 45 m per gallon kept him mostly in eco mode with the exception of that acceleration test that you guys saw which I also counted in that 45 m per gallon of course I put it in sport driving M for that but 45 MPGs in this

Thing that is not too bad at all but anyways let’s go ahead to start with where this one is made taking a look at the bin first character is the letter J indicating that the ux250 hybrid is built and assembled in Japan JDM baby but let’s go ahead and start up front

Lexus spindle front grill does come standard of course no blue Lexus emblem as you traditionally will find in most of Toyota and lexus’s hybrid vehicles so I actually like that I think it looks a heck of a lot better in Block far as the design goes at least to the corners

There you will find front air curtains helping direct air around the wheel and tire combination there I like that bu LED headlights do come standard on All trim levels across the board for extra illumination at night there you do get LED daytime running lights you do get

The automatic feature and you also get automatic high beams as well so when you have your high beams on at night and it senses a vehicle coming in the opposite direction it’s going to automatically dim them back to low beams then when the vehicle is gone it’s going to

Automatically bounce it back up to high beams for you there so overall I do like the front end I think it looks dang good up front here I do like the satin Chrome finish towards the bottom portion of that front bumper as well but anyways that pretty much rounds out the front

End let’s now go ahead and make our way to the side all right so now since we are around to the side of this one aluminum roof rails do come standard on All trim levels across the board Chrome window surrounds also coming standard across the board as well taking a look

At the side mirrors they are bodyc colored power adjustable side mirrors they will be heated with LED integrated turet signals and taking look at the fender surrounds I wanted to mention this because a lot of times with compact SUVs like this you will get matte black Fender surrounds but with ux250 hybrid

They actually finish them in the same color as the rest of the body so I absolutely love that they didn’t skimp out on the details there uh f- sport badging can be found on the front fenders if you were to go with one of the F Sport trim levels of course then

Taking a look down at the wheel setup 18-in double five spoke Alloys for the base and premium trims is what you guys are looking at of course and then 18-in f- sport specific Alloys obviously with the F Sport trim levels but let me know what you guys think of the side profile

In the comments let’s now go ahead and make our way to the back all right so now since we are around to the back of the ux all the way up top there you will find a bodyc colored shark fin antenna just below that rear spoiler with an

Integrated brake light just below that rear window wiper LED tail lights with the LED light bar going from side to side but one of my favorite Parts about the tail lights is it’s kind of got like this little wing to the corners there so I’m going to get up a little bit closer

To show you guys but you guys can see it’s kind of like a little wing to the tail light so I absolutely love that design it’s different you know it’s not like anything else on the road so that’s I think why I like it but anyways just

Underneath of it all you will find a single exhaust Outlet tucked away kind of underneath on the passenger side there so having said that this is a hybrid so this doesn’t always work like a non-hybrid but as always here is that exhaust clip all right so now since we are

Around to the back of this one when it comes to opening that rear tailgate it is a power tailgate for every single trim level across the board and this is a newly available option for 2024 only you do now have the option of a handsfree power tailgate if you wanted

To go that route doesn’t come standard on any particular trim but it is now available as it was not in 2023 but once opened up cargo capacity comes in at 21.7 cubic feet if that was not enough space there is a 60/40 split meaning the

Rear seats do fall down for a good bit of extra space then if you needed it got tie down Acres back there there’s grocery bag hooks 12vt power outlet first aid kit as well which is always fun to find then if you were to lift up though underneath of that cargo floor

You will find INF floor storage and if you think that’s cool lift up underneath of that inflor storage and you’re going to find more in floor storage but it’s compartmentalized as well so little secret James Bond storage area underneath of the cargo floor which is pretty cool but anyways then making our

Way up to the rear leg room that comes in at 33.1 in for reference I mean even 6 feet tall not a ton of space back there but you know it’ll get the job done but rear center armrest with cup holders does come standard you’re going to find rear ventilation for those rear

Passengers as well along with dual rear USB charging ports which I’d love to see back there but then make our way up to the front seats eight-way power adjustable front seats do come standard new Lux upholstery also coming standard heated and ventilated front seats for the premium and f- Sport handling trim

Levels f- sport handling is going to add that memory settings and of course the enhanced bolstering that the f- sport seats are known for they are the most comfortable seats I’ve ever experienced but having said that we don’t have the F Sport seats today and these seats they’re pretty darn comfortable as well

Typically Toyota and Lexus always do an amazing job with their seat Comfort but now let’s go ahead and make our way to the steering wheel it is tilt and telescoping it is leather wrapped for ult trium levels across the board I liked that it was power adjustable and

If you wanted a heated steering wheel that cost an additional $150 if you wanted to go that route but now let’s go ahead and make our way to the startup let me start by showing you guys the key got your Lexus logo on the one side when

You flip it over lock unlock and that button to pop the rear tailgate there typical Lexus key but it is all keyless entry with a push button start so all I’m going to do here is simply put my foone of the brake and press that silver engine start button located just to the

Left of the climate control buttons there and so once started up there is an FS sport specific gauge cluster for the fport trims otherwise you’re going to get what you guys are looking at right now which is a pretty nice gauge cluster as well It’s All Digital basically when

You adjust the drive modes the color is going to change as well like I said earlier there are steering wheel Mount controls found on the left side of the steering wheel to control what is on the left side of the digital cluster telling you things like your average miles per

Gallon at any given time also with drive mode you were in your range as well which by the way we have 447 mil until empty that is definitely a good bit I like that tire pressure information pretty much everything you could possibly want on the gauges up there but

Now let’s go ahead and make our way to overall interior quality a power moon roof is going to come on the premium trim level and up hence the reason we have one today audio dimming rear premere with hom lay controls for the premium and f- Sport handling trim

Levels only wireless phone charger that goes for $75 if you wanted to go that route but I love all the attention to detail on this thing like the Washi material specific to Japanese culture I love that that can be found kind of just to the left of the gauge cluster also

Above the passenger side glove box it does come with the tan contrast stitching to match the color of the seats as well I liked that I like the samurai sword inspired door handles I just mentioned that in the TX review I just did I wish they had them because

That is one of the things Lexus was kind of known for to me and I thought that was so stick and cool so a lot of Japanese Heritage in this vehicle and that makes sense because it is 100% made in Japan every part about it so I love

That but just in front of the shifter like I said we do have the wireless phone charging you got a couple cup holders there behind the shifter you have your heated steering wheel button along with your heated and ventilated seat buttons and within the center armrest there is a decent amount of

Storage there you also have a USB charging port and a 12volt power outlet then as well so they did the interior quality absolutely amazing in my personal opinion but now let’s go ahead and make our way to the infotainment screen 8in color touchscreen display coming with the base premium and f-

Sport Design and then a 12.3in color touchscreen display coming with the fport handling it’s going to be optional on the premium and yes of course we have that option this screen is massive Bluetooth and audio streaming coming standard but my favorite part Wireless Android auto Apple carplay I love that

Cuz still most vehicles to this day even luxury and manufacturers still go with the wired Android auto Apple carplay so I love that as Wireless Factory navigation system up there as well climate control settings you can check out along with your radio information and so when it comes to the sound

Systems there’s two of them six speakers is going to come in the bass premium and f- Sport Design and then you have a 10 speaker sound system coming with the f- sport handling so having said that we do have the six speaker sound system with

Us here today so let’s go ahead and turn on the radio see what we got playing this morning and let’s test out the clarity of this one Again I’m pretty sure it was the ux if I remember correctly where I said this is my favorite six speaker sound system in existence it doesn’t sound like six speakers perhaps it’s the size of the vehicle and you don’t really need that many speakers but that’s an incredible

Six speaker sound system like the clarity it almost feels like you’re at a concert it’s so crystal clear base was pretty darn good as well but the clarity is just absolutely amazing like it will surprise you I guarantee you you hear six speakers and you’re like eh whatever

But it doesn’t sound like eh whatever it sounds dang good believe it or not but at least when it comes to six speaker sound systems the last thing wanted to mention you guys on the infotainment screen is when you do put the ux in Reverse you will find a rear viw camera

It’s going to kind of make this chiming noise as well since the hybrid of course but as always that is going to lead us into safety and so to start the ux 250 hybrid is an iihs top safety pick so that’s a heck of a start right there

Front side side curtain airbags do come standard driver and passenger knee airbags as well in the back you’re going to have latch AKA lower anchors and tethers for children for the rear car seats rear child door locks tire pressure monitoring system but also coming standard Lexus safety system plus

2.5 that gives you a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection Lane Trace assist Lane departure alert with steering assist road sign assist Dynamic radar cruise control any blind spot monitoring system with rear cross traffic alert as well so overall when it comes to my final thoughts here of the ux extremely bright head-up display

System I didn’t really emphasize the brightness but it has got to be the brightest head of display system I’ve ever seen great MPGs as well like I said I average 45.4 MP gallon my short little 10mi drive in this thing so that is absolutely incredible fport seats are absolutely amazing still my favorite

Seats to this day so I love that one of my favorite things though has got to be the Japanese touches inside of the ux here like the Washi material like the samurai sword door handles I think that’s just so stinking cool I love when Vehicles really make something unique

And original unlike any other vehicles on the road and Lexus did that with the ux when at least when it comes to those two things excellent reliability as well I think a lot of people still think that only naturally aspirated engines can be reliable but they don’t always think

That the hybrids can be just as reliable if not more reliable and the case with Toyota and Lexus IS they have actually made their hybrid configurations more reliable than their naturally aspirated engines which you wouldn’t think was possible but they did it I’ve read articles with like a Highlander Hybrid

Going over a million miles and constantly you see the Toyota Prius going 300,000 plus miles so no the batteries last a very very long time in these things so I love that as well the only constructive criticism I can really think of is it is a tad bit slow but

It’s one of the things that you just get used to it’s kind of like the visibility in a 370Z or a Camaro uh you just eventually get used to you learn the vehicle and you learn how to drive it but anyways let me know what you guys
