All-New Toyota C-HR: take an in-depth look at our stylish SUV

Hello and welcome to this exclusive tour of the  features and details of the all-new Toyota C-HR. I’m Esme and I’m Frankie and today, we’ve got  the pleasure of introducing you to this brilliant   new SUV. With its sleek, eye-catching looks  it’s a car that really dares to be different.

Yeah, this is the car for those looking  for something more than the norm. The sharp design is mixed with a range of advanced   hybrid engines – and a premium  look and feel for the interior. It’s sophisticated, sporty and its  cutting-edge technology is really easy to use.

The bold colour choices and unique  bi-tone designs make a big statement. And on top of that, there’s interior  lighting you can make your own… and   a clean, responsive infotainment  system that is super customisable. The seats are also great, offering a  range of gorgeous fabrics and materials.

There’s more on all of that on the  Toyota.co.uk website… and with its   extensive list of options the all-new Toyota  C-HR offers personalisation like never before,   allowing you to choose options and  accessories that work best for you. That’s exactly it. This car is ALL about  fitting seamlessly into a busy life – combining

Practicality, comfort and space as well as the  latest safety systems and easy-to-use technology. So, it looks great, it’s got loads of cool  tech, there are hybrid engines that deliver   low running costs and it’s got some amazing  safety systems that make life a bit easier… Yeah, that’s the need to know. But let’s take

A closer look at why the new  C-HR should be your next car. First, let’s talk style…  With its distinctive looks,   the original C-HR turned heads, but – let’s be  honest – this new model takes it up a notch.

Up front, there are these bright LED lights that  add a touch of class to the sleek, clean outline. These door handles blend seamlessly into the  bodywork, and are another sign of Toyota’s   commitment to innovation and design, and  yes, those big alloy wheels do look great.

And just look how stunning  this two-tone paint finish is,   extending all the way to the back of  the car to create a bold sharp look. What do you think Frankie? I love that, it really makes the car stand out. It really does, but I’ll tell you one of my

Particular highlights. Check  this out… The rear light bar. Lights please! The red light across the back looks really smart,   and with the illuminated logo in the  middle, it really stands out at night. In the meantime, the cabin is every  bit as good as the outside to look at,

With loads of room for driver and passengers,  and a layout that’s designed to wrap around   you for that sporty feel. The quality  is top-notch, and the ambient lighting   gives you a stylish glow at night, which  you can change to suit your mood as well.

There’s no fumbling around for the  controls, either; everything is within   easy reach, and phone integration with the  infotainment system is absolutely seamless. The driver also gets a digital  combimeter that’s the same size   as the main touchscreen and can be  also be customised with different

Displays that are all clear and easy  to read without being distracting. How’s it looking in the back Esme? Well, I have to say, it’s pretty  bright and spacious back here too.   I love the glass roof you get on  top-spec models, it really helps

To open the car up and gives those in the  back something to get excited about too. Comfort is great, and headroom isn’t compromised   by the panoramic roof. I’m 5’7” and  there’s plenty of head and legroom. If you’ve got small kids, then there are two  sets of Isofix child seat mounts back here,

Which will be easy to access  via the wide-opening rear doors. Plus, any backseat passengers who  need to keep their devices charged   have access to a USB socket too,  so that should keep things quiet. All those back-seat features will  come in handy on long journeys,

That is for sure, and so will the big boot. It’s always a bit of a challenge to pack for  holidays, but there’s more space in the back   of the C-HR than ever before, meaning  you can fit in the holiday essentials.

Staying connected is essential, these  days – I don’t think I could cope if   I didn’t have my phone with me – and the  C-HR’s got you covered with Toyota Smart   Connect Plus and the MyToyota app, which  is available for Apple and Android phones.

On selected models, the C-HR comes  with a massive 12.3-inch screen,   and there’s sat-nav built-in that’s  super easy to use. Everything looks   sharp and it’s quick to come up with  the ideal route for your journey. You can also hook up your phone wirelessly  so you can use your apps while your phone

Is in your pocket. Or while it’s charging  on this fancy wireless charging pad here. There’s voice control, too, so you can  change the temperature or fan speed,   make calls, switch the radio on and  lots more besides. Check this out: “Hey Toyota, call Frankie.” “Not now, I’m busy…”

There are online services, too, which  can keep you updated on local traffic,   while the MyT app can pinpoint  where you parked your car. If you’ve ever forgotten where you left  your car in a multi-storey car park,   then this makes life so much easier.

And for anyone who has walked away  from a car and worried about whether   they have locked it or not, this is the  App for you… It lets you know if the car   has been left unlocked, and if it  is you can lock it remotely, too.

And one more feature that’s really amazing…  if it’s a particularly hot or cold day,   the app will also let you  schedule the climate control,   so the cabin temperature is just  right when you get in the car. Hybrid technology is a big deal at Toyota,

And the C-HR comes with a choice of engines,  including self-charging or plug-in hybrid. Remind me again, what’s the difference between  a self-charging hybrid and a plug-in hybrid? Well, the big difference is that  the plug-in model gets an extra   socket on the side where it can  be charged from the mains supply.

With the plug-in hybrid system, there’s 212  horsepower, but that socket charges a bigger   battery that offers up to 41 miles of all-electric  range. Keep the battery fully charged at home or   a public charging point, and you could go  weeks without visiting a petrol station.

But, Toyota knows that not everyone can charge at  home. That’s where a self-charging hybrid comes in   handy. It seamlessly switches between electricity  and petrol power so all you need to do is drive. And thanks to the decades of  hybrid experience that Toyota has,   the latest C-HR delivers the  most enjoyable drive yet.

The 1.8-litre hybrid has 140 horsepower which  will be fine for most users. But if you’re   after a bit more power, then the 2.0-litre  hybrid comes with a healthy 200 horsepower. No matter which one you go for, both hybrids  are capable of returning up to 50 mpg.

The plug-in hybrid really appeals to me. I  only ever do short trips around town, and I   usually have to go out of my way to find a petrol  station, so if I can charge up at home I think

I’d try and see how much driving I could do on  electric power alone before the engine fired up! Sounds like a challenge that the  C-HR would be happy to take on! Even better is the fact that the hybrid tech is  so easy to use – just press the Start button,

And you’re ready to roll. It’s the  ideal choice for drivers looking   to reduce their CO2 emissions, but aren’t  quite ready to make the leap to a full EV. OK, let’s talk safety. The Toyota C-HR has  got your back with its Safety Sense tech. Yep, absolutely. Toyota Safety  Sense is there to watch over

You and your passengers for added peace of mind. Things like lane-change assist  warn you about blind spots,   or Safe Exit Assist uses those  LED interior lights for more than   style – they light up in warning colours if  you’re about to open a door into traffic.

Safety first, right? I like how it’s  designed to make your life easier,   warning you of hazards that you might not  have seen. Having lane change assist as   a backup when on a busy motorway feels  like it would be a huge peace of mind!

So, there you have it, the all-new Toyota C-HR.  It’s got style, practicality and efficiency all   wrapped up in one gorgeous package. If you’re  someone who wants a stylish family SUV that makes   a statement and offers lots of neat features and  user-friendly details, you can’t really go wrong.

And don’t just take our word for it. The C-HR has   had some great reviews from  experts across the board. Frankie, where do I go next if  I want to find out some more? Well, I suggest that anyone interested head over   to your nearest Toyota Centre  to try a C-HR out for yourself.
