– [Narrator] The 2024 Toyota RAV4 versus the 2024 Hyundai Tucson. Let’s learn a bit more about these small SUVs. Featuring an expansive lineup with gas and hybrid electric, and plug-in hybrid electric grades, as well as off-road and sport-oriented models, RAV4 is all about the power of choice. Thanks to Toyota Safety Sense,

RAV4 makes advanced driver assistance and active safety features standard on all grades. Eye-catching exterior colors and grade-specific design cues make every RAV4 uniquely distinct. Now let’s put RAV4 and Tucson side by side. RAV4 is offered in nine grades across three different powertrains. That includes seven hybrid EV grades

And two plug-in hybrid EV grades, all of which come with standard all-wheel drive. For 2024, RAV4 Woodland Edition gains two-tone exterior colors with a Midnight Black Metallic roof, including the new Army Green, which is also available on the Adventure and TRD Off-Road as a single-tone or with an Ice Edge roof.

Tucson is offered in six grades across three powertrain options. The rugged-looking XRT grade is gas-only, while N Line is now a hybrid-only grade. A new exterior color has also been added for the model year. RAV4’s chiseled exterior styling comes with standard LED exterior lighting and available roof rail crossbars.

Available two-tone exterior color combinations allow this stylish SUV to stand out even more, while an available power tilt/slide moonroof or panoramic glass roof brings the outside in. TRD Off-Road and Woodland Edition raise RAV4’s design to new heights, with their 18-inch TRD alloy wheels in Matte Black and bronze finishes respectively.

Both 18- and 19-inch wheels are available. They’re finished in silver color or gloss-black depending on the grade. Finally, the available hands-free power liftgate adds flexibility when loading cargo. Tucson comes standard with LED headlights, but its roof rails are only available on the SEL grade and up. It also doesn’t have an answer

To RAV4’s available two-tone exterior colors. A power tilt-and-slide sunroof and a panoramic glass roof are available only on select grades, as are 19-inch alloy wheels. Lastly, a hands-free power liftgate is also available on the SEL grade and up. Inside, RAV4 is all about comfort, and that starts with available SofTex-trimmed seats.

On the other hand, an available dual-zone automatic climate control helps keeps the journey comfortable, while available heated and ventilated front seats, and heated rear outboard seats enhance passenger comfort. Plus, an available 1,500-watt AC power outlet in RAV4 Prime’s XSE grade, as well as an available 100-watt AC power outlet

On Adventure, TRD Off-Road and Woodland Edition, allows owners to stay plugged in while unplugging during the weekend. Meanwhile, the cargo area for all RAV4 models delivers 69.8 cubic feet behind the front seats and up to 37.6 cubic feet behind the second row. Tucson’s interior can be had with available leather-trimmed seating

And dual-zone automatic climate control. Heated and ventilated front seats, as well as heated rear outboard seats. However, there’s no 1,500-watt AC power outlet available on any grade. In terms of cargo capacity, Tucson has up to 80.3 cubic feet behind the front seats and up to 41.2 cubic feet behind the second row.

RAV4 comes standard with Toyota’s latest generation Audio Multimedia system, featuring either an 8-inch or an available 10.5-inch touchscreen. This latest platform includes standard wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay, which connects drivers to the apps on their iPhone, including maps, messages, podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, wireless Android Auto compatibility

Makes it easy to stay connected to Android devices and access various apps and services from Google, including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Plus, there’s a standard 3-month SiriusXM Platinum Plan trial subscription that includes over 165 channels available in-cabin, and even more on the SXM mobile app,

Making it easier than ever to enjoy not just ad-free music, but also sports, comedy, and more. RAV4 can be equipped with an available 11-speaker JBL Premium Audio system for a crystal clear listening experience. On top of that, an available 12.3-inch fully digital Multi-Information Display and 10-inch color head-up display

Keeps the relevant driving information right in the driver’s line of sight. RAV4 also works seamlessly with Toyota’s available Connected Services, including trials on select grades for Safety Connect, Service Connect, Remote Connect, Drive Connect, and Wi-Fi Connect. Tucson’s multimedia interface includes a standard eight-inch touchscreen, or an available 10.25-inch touchscreen

On the XRT grade and up. However, wireless compatibility for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are only available with the smaller display. Additionally, the Bose Premium Audio system is exclusive to the N Line and Limited grades. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is available on the SEL grade and up.

Safety is a top priority with RAV4, as it is with all Toyota vehicles. That’s why it includes standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 on gas and hybrid grades, and Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ on RAV4 Prime. This active safety suite include advanced features like a Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection,

Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist, and Road Sign Assist. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is available on all grades for added convenience on the road. Finally, the available Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking,

And a Panoramic View Monitor make it even easier to maneuver in tight spaces. Every Tucson comes standard with Hyundai SmartSense, which contains features that are similar to Toyota Safety Sense. Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is also standard on all grades. However, the Surround View Monitor is only available on the Limited grade.

Whether in gas or electrified form, RAV4’s performance really stands out. The standard four-cylinder gas engine has 203 horsepower, while RAV4 Hybrid EV produces 219 net combined horsepower. What’s more, RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid EV offers drivers an impressive 302 net combined horsepower. Meanwhile, Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive and Multi-Terrain Select

Are also available on select grades, as is a tow rating of up to 3,500 pounds. RAV4 Hybrid EV also include a Trail mode, which controls braking, drive force control, and the Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive System, enabling it to operate similarly to a vehicle with front, rear, and center limited-slip differentials,

Enhancing traction when conditions require it. On the other hand, the Woodland Edition and TRD Off-Road grades come with a TRD-tuned suspension for improved capability when the pavement ends. And should agile handling be of utmost importance, RAV4 has that front covered too, thanks to the standard sport-tuned suspension on Hybrid SE and Hybrid XSE.

RAV4 is also impressively efficient across the lineup, with up to an EPA-estimated 30 miles per gallon combined rating on gas models. RAV4 Hybrid EV, on the other hand, has up to an EPA-estimated 40 miles per gallon combined rating. Finally, RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid EV has an EPA-estimated 94 MPGe combined rating

And 42 miles in EV-only mode. Tucson’s standard four-cylinder engine is rated at 187 horsepower, while its hybrid electric grades produce 227 net combined horsepower. Despite being the lineup’s most powerful version, Tucson Plug-in Hybrid’s 261 net combined horsepower falls short of RAV4 Prime. All-wheel drive is available on gas grades,

And standard on hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants. In terms of towing, Tucson is rated at 2,000 pounds regardless of the powertrain. Although Tucson offers a rugged-looking XRT and the sporty N Line, neither have any suspension upgrades similar to those found in RAV4 TRD Off-Road and RAV4 Hybrid’s S grades. In terms of efficiency,

Tucson can’t match RAV4 with up to an EPA-estimated 28 miles per gallon combined in gas grades, or up to an EPA-estimated 38 miles per gallon combined in hybrid electric grades. Tucson Plug-In Hybrid, on the other hand, has an EPA-estimated 80 MPGe combined rating and an EV-only mode range of 33 miles.

RAV4 has been recognized by NHTSA, who awarded it with its 2023 5-star overall safety rating. It was also named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Continuing the theme of overall value, RAV4’s hybrid EV and plug-in hybrid EV grades feature an 8-year or 100,000-mile hybrid system warranty,

Whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 150,000-mile battery warranty, whichever comes first, making them viable choices for the long-term. Plus, every new RAV4 comes with ToyotaCare, which provides two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, of scheduled maintenance, as well as two years and unlimited mileage 24-hour roadside assistance. NHTSA awarded Tucson

With a 2023 five-star overall safety rating for front-wheel drive variants. On the other hand, it received the 2022 Top Safety Pick Plus award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Tucson also includes Hyundai Complimentary Maintenance, which provides three years or 36,000 miles of scheduled maintenance, whichever comes first. Additionally, it includes a five-year

Or 60,000-mile basic warranty, whichever comes first, and a 10-year or 100,000 mile powertrain warranty, whichever comes first. With Toyota’s commitment to quality, durability, and reliability, it’s clear why RAV4 is such a smart choice among small SUVs. Discover RAV4 today at toyota.com.
