– [Narrator] The 2024 Toyota 4Runner versus the 2024 Jeep Wrangler. Let’s learn a bit more about these rugged SUVs. 4Runner’s incredible performance makes it a capable machine on and off the pavement. Every 4Runner includes Toyota Safety Sense P for added peace of mind. A wealth of comfort and convenience features ensures

That 4Runner is as practical as it is capable. Now let’s put 4Runner and Wranglers side by side. 4Runner is available in seven grades, four of which are TRD grades. In addition to rear wheel drive, select grades can be equipped with part-time four-wheel drive, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, and TRD Pro feature standard part-time four-wheel drive, while Limited has the option of a full-time four-wheel drive system.

For 2024, 4Runner’s TRD grades gain new exterior colors that are sure to grab attention. Wrangler’s lineup consists of eight grades. Two are available only in the four-door Wrangler Unlimited and one is exclusive to the plug-in hybrid Wrangler 4xe. Four-wheel drive is standard across the lineup. Select grades feature a part-time system

While other versions use full-time four-wheel drive. 4Runner’s rugged looks stand out thanks to features like standard LED exterior lighting and unique grill designs for every grade. Additionally, skid plates for the engine and front suspension as well as front and rear mud guards protect key components from debris during off-road driving.

Every 4Runner also includes a power rear lift gate window for added convenience along with standard roof rails that provide extra cargo flexibility for carrying gear. Wrangler’s exterior was given a slight refresh for 2024. LED headlights are available but only on higher grades. Every version includes skid plates for the transfer case and transmission.

There’s also a wide range of available roof stacks, including a power soft top and removable hard top. However, Wrangler is not available with a power rear lift gate window on any grade. There are no roof rails to be found either. With the available third row, 4Runner’s interior offers room for up to seven. It also has generous cargo space at up to 89.7 cubic feet behind the front seats and 47.2 cubic feet behind the second row. Select grades are offered with available comfort and convenience features like a heated steering wheel,

Heated and ventilated front seats, and a Panoramic View Monitor. On the other hand, the cabin of TRD models is further enhanced by a TRD shift knob and TRD branded mats and floor liners. On the other hand, Wrangler seats up to five in the four-door Unlimited variant. However, in terms of cargo space,

It just can’t match 4Runner. There’s a more modest 72.4 cubic feet behind the front seats and 31.7 cubic feet behind the second row. Higher grades can be equipped with heated front seats but features like ventilated front seats and the Panoramic View Monitor are not available on any Wrangler grade.

When it comes to advanced technology, 4Runner delivers. Its Audio Multimedia interface comes standard with an eight-inch touchscreen and includes standard compatibility for Apple CarPlay which connects drivers to the apps on their iPhone including maps, messages, podcasts, and music subscriptions. In addition, Android Auto compatibility makes it easy to stay connected to Android devices

And access various apps and services from Google, including YouTube Music and Google Maps. Plus there’s a standard three-month SiriusXM Platinum Plan trial subscription that includes over 165 channels available in cabin and even more on the SXM mobile app, making it easier than ever to enjoy not just ad free music

But also sports, comedy, and more. Additionally, the available JBL Premium Audio system ensures optimum clarity when listening to any playlist. Select grades also come with trial subscriptions to Toyota’s line of Connected Services, including a Wi-Fi Connect hotspot for up to five devices. Every 2024 Wrangler comes with the Uconnect 5 interface,

Which features a standard 12.3 inch touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are also included, as is a three month SiriusXM trial subscription. An Alpine Premium audio system is available on select grades. For all its rugged features and intelligent tech, 4Runner also puts a strong focus on safety as all Toyota vehicles do. Toyota Safety Sense P is standard on all grades and includes Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

Is also standard across the lineup. Wrangler also has several active safety and driver assistance features, but none of these are standard. Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus is available only on higher trims, while Blind-Spot and Cross-Path Detection, Automatic High-Beam Headlamp Control, and the ParkSense Rear Park-Assist System are part of the optional Safety Group. Striking a balance between everyday drivability and serious off-road capability is what 4Runner does best. Available technologies like Multi-Terrain Select and Crawl Control help tackle challenging road conditions by automatically adjusting the engine throttle and braking pressure, while an available electronically controlled locking rear differential helps 4Runner regain traction in challenging road conditions.

Similarly, the available full-time four-wheel drive system features a Torsen limited-slip center differential to help manage front to rear power distribution. Advanced suspension systems, like the available X-REAS Sport Enhancement Suspension and Kinetic Dynamic Suspension are designed to adjust suspension behavior depending on the surface on which the 4Runner is driving.

Meanwhile, 4Runner TRD Pro’s high-performance Fox shocks and all-terrain tires help get past the toughest terrain. Plus it achieves all this while maintaining its 5,000 pound tow rating and standard equipment like a towing receiver hitch and wiring harness. 4Runner comes with standard 17-inch or available 20-inch wheels wrapped

In mud and snow tires to help firmly grip the road. In terms of power, 4Runner comes standard with a 270 horsepower, four-liter V6 engine paired to a five-speed automatic transmission. Similar to 4Runner, Wrangler can be had with an off-road-tuned suspension, which includes locking front and rear axles on select grades.

Additionally, a choice of part-time or full-time four-wheel drive is available. However, Wrangler’s towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds falls short of 4Runner’s. In terms of powertrains, Wrangler comes standard with the 285 horsepower, 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine paired exclusively to a six-speed manual. Other powertrain options, which are coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission,

Include a 270-horsepower, two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, a 470-horsepower 6.4-liter V8 engine, and a plug-in hybrid with 375 net combined horsepower. Every new Toyota 4Runner comes with ToyotaCare which provides two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first of scheduled maintenance and 24-hour Roadside Assistance for two years and unlimited miles. In addition to industry standard warranty coverage, all Wrangler grades include the Jeep Wave customer care program which includes two years of scheduled maintenance

And five years or 60,000 miles of 24/7 roadside assistance whichever comes first. With its standout performance features, the 2024 Toyota 4Runner shows why Toyota is a leader in on-road and off-road capability. Discover 4Runner today at toyota.com.
