They’ve had the Kia ev9 which is one of the cars that I’ve I think is one of the best cars I’ve driven this year which is that seven seater I love it because it shows that quality doesn’t have to drop off by the time you get to the back of
The car it’s actually it’s just really brilliantly put together um that was our large family car the year 2023 um and also they’ve just got so much more exciting stuff coming because of course their cars all have that EV number and they have trademarked ev1 to
EV very clever brilliant so we’ve got a lot of numbers left to fill in in in that and we’ve seen the EV3 and ev4 concept cars yeah well you saw them in person and you did like a little walk around didn’t you with the videos when electrifying on and it’s the baby one
That’s the most interesting I think isn’t it the small SUV that av3 is coming in 2024 so we will get to see that in 2024 we’ll also go on sale towards the end of 24 I think the thing that gets me most about this car is its price it’ll be around £30,000 beautiful
Beautiful that’ll do lovely it it will do really well and it is everything we love about the Kia ev9 which is that you know the way the wind screen is sort of pushed a bit forward and it’s got that lovely long SL roof line and it’s got
That same front and headlamps yeah I love that I love that um and those lovely geometric um uh wheel yes love love and it’s all of that in a little more compact Diddy packing which I think is just brilliant so I’ve seen it a couple of times now and I do
Think it looks great and that is one of the cars I am most excited about next year I’ve got really I think that is just going to be you know something that I think we will all really enjoy seeing and driving if the others um are open to

Throw out a trio of cars all coming from Mini oh mini oh my goodness it’s it’s going to be a really exciting year for mini because not only do they have the new mini electric which I’ve driven it was my first shoot for electrifying it was

They were telling me throw it more and I was like Wow and it was handling it so well so you’ve got that and then you have the new interior with the circular screen which we first saw when they released the concept of the asan and the
Asan is coming out next G ex and then you have the same with the countrymen the new electric Countryman I was always a fan of the combustion Countryman because I think it’s a beautiful car especially for families it’s going to be really really good for families yeah I
Haven’t driven one yet but I got to do a passenger ride in one and I was really impressed with it the fact that it doesn’t sort of the body roll it’s very stck very little body roll in it and it’s just a really really lovely car it’s a
Very exciting year for mini I just love the interior the hatch yes cuz to me I think the Interiors of Minis and I say this as a mini owner they’ve been over styled there’s been too much going on where that really paired down I love that screen and to me it really does
Take the mini back to what it should have been not just years ago but it’s like the old school mini in that it’s like you turn a key but you don’t turn a key but it’s got instead of like a push to it’s a little T oh that’s nice that’s

Actually I’m going to change things I’m going to talk about three cars as well but um a little bit more expensive Maserati a little bit more expensive now talking about rebirths the number of I mean you you would have remembered this a lot I remember it a little bit as well
When we were working together number of relaunches Maserati’s had is insane but they are back again um and they’ve got three new electric cars coming first of all the gal lovely lovely lovely just sounds lovely doesn’t you want to drive the guar don’t you while whil you know eating beautiful pasta talk about
Cliches but yes but that’s the thing the names have always been great but the cars attached to those names have never always been that good but we’ve got high hopes of G car I’ve already driven it as a petrol and it was good it was good so
I’ve got very high hopes for the electric one so then there’s the mc20 again I triing is the petrol very very good but the electric it’s going to be even better I promise you um and so they’ve they’ve they’ve done the SUV they’ve done the super car and of course
You need a car in the middle which is of course a foral saloon and that’s what it’s called the quat day that is one of my favorite names ever for a car it’s just lovely and when that is electric and it is it’s going to come back exclusively as an electric car can
Only say it in an Italian accent otherwise it just doesn’t work quo okay all my name choice is exciting to you it is so exciting it’s exciting because hopefully it Heralds the star of some properly affordable electric cars and I don’t mean cars like the EV3 and
The mini range which are going to be in their 30s I mean a car that’s going to cost sort of 20ish thousand, now we’re talking the Citron EC3 yes I think it’s going to be great I really do so it’s got a range of 199 miles um I just love that whole attitude
That c has got about creating just really bold different cars I love what they’ve done with the Amy I absolutely love the OE and this gets just this a little 111 brake horsepower electric motor it’s a small 44 KW battery pack you don’t need more than that you know
It’s you’re going to do that 199 miles in it the smaller the battery pack the more affordable the car and citen I think are a brand who really really get that and if this is the car that gets a lot more people into electric then I’m going to absolutely love it just for
That you know it’s a sensitively priced family car with a decent range yeah and you know it will be and we know it be comfortable if he drives well too which hopefully it will then I think this will be a really good package I love the way they’ve taken CU
Sometimes we’ve all seen concept cars haven’t we and they don’t they say they preview things but they don’t actually the Olie really has shown some of the things in the new EC3 have actually come from the old that’s great I think citan are pretty good at that yeah they doing
A concept car and then going yeah no we’re pretty much going to stick with that and use bits from it so I like that so I’m excited about that what a couple more to throw into make two pole stars coming next year the PO star three and
The PO star four it’s all very exciting naturally uh the poar 3 follows on for the poar 2 believe it or not um but then it kind of gets weird because you have the PO star 3 which is like a bigger kind of SUV style car which is going to
Be lovely I mean it’s sharing the underpinnings of the ex90 is just going to be absolutely stunning and then the four and five will follow but the four and five are smaller which doesn’t make any sense but we we won’t worry about that so it’s going to go two which we love

That’s a Ral them potentially for the9 as well so yes good okay right I’m going to move on to Ford okay because that is aand with an electric something really that’s with a car that they’re actually going to sell not just you know because that’s the problem with for well it is

2023 so just gives you an idea of the cars that you were all excited about number one was go on I think it was the ev9 ionic 6 both wrong those kind sadly was the Fisker ocean oh was that has just there’s been a lot of interest
Around that wow closely followed by the byd seal and our 2023 car of the year the vvo EX3 that does surprise me yeah so really interesting mix there of cars but yeah the ocean is a car that I just think has captured a lot of people’s imagination dog Windows see do windows

It feels like there’s been at least one new electric car launched every week in 2023. Car makers have been racing to add everything from superminis to supercars to their line-ups and things aren’t set to slow down any time soon. In fact, the pace is picking up further with a wealth of new electric cars coming in 2024.
While there are a lot of family cars coming from the likes of Peugeot, Ford, BYD and Mini, 2024 will also bring a host of new, more compact and more affordable options from Citroen, Dacia, Fiat and Renault to make electric cars more accessible. And premium and performance fans needn’t feel left out, with everyone from Audi to Lotus also launching much-anticipated new models.
As always, launch dates are a movable feast – the Ford Explorer has already been pushed back six months – but, bearing that in mind, we’ve polished up Electrifying.com’s crystal ball to have a look at some of the cars that are due in the near future to see if they are worth the wait.
