To acquire upgrades, you need a Volkswagen ID user account, a valid VW Connect/We Connect contract and your primary user verification, i.e. the link between your user account and the specific vehicle. Your vehicle must also have the technical functionality, hardware and software required for the upgrade concerned. The availability of upgrades may also depend on model year and production date. The primary user can view the upgrades available for the vehicle in question in the infotainment system’s In-Car Shop or in the Volkswagen Connect Shop at connect-shop.volkswagen.com. Items subject to a charge can be purchased in the In-Car Shop and/or the Volkswagen Connect Shop using the payment methods currently available there. The availability of upgrade functions may differ between the Web shop and the In-Car Shop. Your Volkswagen dealership will also be happy to advise you on upgrades and their availability. Purchased and activated upgrades remain in the vehicle for the duration of the activation period, can be used by all drivers and cannot be transferred to other vehicles.
