Mazda cx70 is one of the top Japanese cars coming in 2024 that I’m looking forward to watch my top Japanese cars coming in 2024 video and now we finally have an official reveal date Mazda is pulling back the drapes this month let’s get into it so Mazza Canada over on the Instagram

Has for the cx60 now the cx60 is is very similar to this it is available in other parts of the world um namely Japan uh Europe those are probably the two biggest markets for the cx60 um and what we have under the drape here is a completely different vehicle
And I’m going to explain why first of all look at the hood length the hood length on the Mazda cx60 and cx90 is very long because there’s an inline six going front and back or you could call it la longitudinally this sort of setup that we see here wouldn’t allow for that
So that already debunks this and then let alone you don’t have a side mirror this front bumper doesn’t match up with this front bumper so this is not actually the silhouette or the drape of the cx70 if it is that’s going to be a shock because it’s going to be an
Enormous departure from Mazda’s current styling language which doesn’t make sense for a small automaker to completely switch it up so this is just a template here more than likely it’s going to look very similar to the CX 60 Mazda’s cx60 is the more narrow variant of the
Cx70 so think of when it comes to the United States they’re just going to make this a little bit wider and call a day more than likely with maybe some slight design tweaks because the front bumper in the corners here is just slightly different than the front bumper in the
Corners of the CX9 3 or crossover that’s already on sale North America so I’m going to take my time and thumb through some of the comments and address them um obviously these are the comments on their Instagram page so let’s go ahead and take a swing um broch wants the mon
A 6 refresh already well technically it would be a complete redesign a whole new generation it would be on that rear wheeel drive platform that the cx70 uh shares with it but I said that vehicle is probably coming out in 2026 2027 time frame once they have launched

Powertrains in Lane six plug-in hybrid they might have some issues initially but I expect them to get it ironed out really quick if we look at their um vehicles have been around for a long time the CX5 for example that thing is about as bulletproof as any car out on
The road so give it time for the cx70 and the cx90 to get to that level of reliability but I’m not worried the long term but that’s something you always take the risk of first model year of any vehicle regardless if it’s made in Japan
Or made in Mexico so just keep that in mind will it come with an inline six says lisf and the answer is absolutely will come in inline six exact same power trains as what we see at least in North America because maybe some variance for of the cx70 could be had with turbo
Diesels like we see with the cx60 overseas but for North America anyways that I’m aware is just going to be inline 6 with around 325 horsepower somewhere around there if I remember right and then uh you also have the plug-in hybrid uh with the same roughly
The same torque as the inline 6 mild hybrid and that gives you 369 pound feet of torque um and 30 mil of range or so haven’t tested the plug-in hybrid cx90 but I’ve heard it’s pretty good Mike Amigo says he’s worried that it could be
A cx90 with a third row delete a lot of people been saying that this could happen I think it was due to some dealer documentation that the cx90 in terms or sorry the cx70 in terms of the dimensions were identical to the cx90 so Mazda could cheap out and just do a
Third row delete on the cx90 and call that the cx70 personally I don’t think that they are that cheap I think that want to segment uh their vehicle different than the cx90 it needs to be smaller otherwise what’s the point I mean you just keep the full the third row folded
On a cx90 and there’s your cx70 so I don’t think that’s the case and I understand why people are concerned about that but let’s wait for January 30th and then we’ll see for sure if it’s a third row delete cx90 or not I don’t think it will be like I said make sure
