We’ve reviewed quite a number of EVS just this year and well in turn we used a lot of adjectives to describe them like quick fast stable instant shocking torky followed by screeching from either the tires or Jack my God now while manufacturers are standing a top of

Mountain screaming to the top of their lungs that EES are the next best thing or actually the cars of now it’s a bit of a hard pill to swallow especially for the average Filipino consumer considering the prices that they’re asking for not all of them are expensive but for crossovers mainly yes

They are expensive this ladies and gentlemen however is the byd Auto 3 and Legend has it it can be had for under 2 million Philippine vessels These are the Bosch aot twin blades the original swipe left the original thank you next the Bosch arot twin wiper blades have outstanding wiper performance due to enhanced rubber formula and iodium spring strips long life due to less abrasion and wear and super quiet Wiping really I can do this in my sleep it’s really easy just uncp and it’s like a hook basically it comes off that easy removing the old blade is probably twice as hard as putting in the new blade because the new blade is so easy lift

Space inside the cabin as well this is my normal driving position a third person no problem because there is no Center tunnel so a smaller third person average sized adults on the other side no problem the colors of the seat kind of looking like Captain America which is

Like for instance on the door or rather on the seat itself there are pockets for your so cell phone so that’s nice and a deep one in there you’ve got air vents in the center which kind of remind me of the generators found on off but if you

Want something a little bit more modern it actually looks like the JBL Flip speakers kind of large quirky uh you’ve got USB charging points in the form of type A and type c a small little cubby there and then uh some really uh weird stuff on the door happening because if

You look at the handle it’s got kind of like a weird wrench looking thing on it this thing looks like it was lifted from an M that is not a speaker that’s just a design the speaker is found down below now I got to tell you that this is an

Electric vehicle so the whole point of it is is to be as quiet as possible but if you have kids back here it’s going to be a problem for two reasons one is because they’re probably going to complain about how they are marking the seats this white leather will get dirty

Quickly I believe so and second there is this thing on the door that looks kind of odd it kind of looks like an unfinished Star Trek Enterprise or a guitar actually and when I say guitar I mean complete with the sounds now if the kids are doing this the whole time

Dig holes in the sand the shovel to me it actually looks like the throttle lever input that Denzel Washington was using when he flipped the plane upside down that was a great movie so there’s also a lot going on here uh inside the front cabin so obviously the colors

Would be the water and then the sand which is like the water and the sand the red is basically just an accent or they’re trying to mimic Captain America not sure you’ve got all your controls for the automobile either in this section right here or on the steering

Wheel that’s it it’s very clean it’s very simple your air controls are found here although there are no fan controls it’s just on and off same thing with your but with your audio rather sorry you have power but you can control the audio control uh the volume here you’ve

Got your modes your auto parking your regenerative braking and your hazard is found down here everything down here up uh underneath the infotainment system is clean on the steering wheel you’ve got your adaptive cruise on one side of the car on the other side your audio controls and functions for your infotainment your

Infotainment is a pretty large screen at 15 plus in uh with Android auto but unfortunately no apple carplay weird the Android auto though is wireless and there is a wireless charger found down here the infotainment screen is larger than 12 in very nice I wish though that

We could have sort of like borrowed a few inches from this guy sort of like what I wish I could do with Jack take some of his height and put it on me take that and put it here to the instrument cluster because it’s very wee wish it

Was a little bit bigger I wish I was a little bit taller I wish I um also there is a lot of quirkiness inside this automobile that we’ve shown you in the seats and whatnot the door handles much like they are the rear and found on the

Mou and then there’s also the uh we be jaming okay we get it you do do you do you really get it do you get it thank you very much ear uh and then there is very one cool party trick that this infotainment system has check this out press the button right Here and lastly just before we set off there are a good number of cubby holes found inside this automobile one down here which can hold my assistant’s kind of slow my bottle which unfortunately can’t go in the door uh even here or even Jack’s bottle oh sorry about that which is

Of a thing as what we’ve experienced in most of the EVS that we’ve driven in this car no it’s pleasantly comfortable properly responsive and it drives the way that it brings itself out to be which is a family crossover it’s very easy to drive it’s still responsive the

Throttle and the power is most definitely still there but it’s not Ott it’s not overthe top and I find it quite calming really now to others everybody not not not everybody but to others out there they will expect a quick very rapid EV it can to an extent still responsible safe affordable approachable

Again those terms you’ll see me use them a little bit later on but at the same time still be EV so that you never have to step into well a petrol station for petrol ever again with 2011 horses and 310 newm of torque it’s respectable but

It has to hit hit the gym a bit to get a bit faster its projected range as tested actually holds up well in traffic we only drain 3% of the charge for the battery going from Makati to Ken City so you could say that one city commute will

Expend about 10% as long as you’re notaden or something like that and speaking of traffic the Adas system in this car is smooth and easy most of the time but it can get freaked out if cars in front of you are being a little predictable that and it s on the safe

Side at times and it hits the brake a little abruptly before we go any further to but I like to say that these seats I like them a lot the lumbar support isn’t intrusive in fact there’s no button for it there so there’s a lack of a lumbar

Support maybe it’s CU I’m Kuba but uh the the the bolsters on the on the seat it’s very comfortable I like it as we showed earlier the seats were very plush yeah and and when you’re driving it feels that way too I feel really good inside this car maybe this car was built

For me the suspension is a bit of well good and bad in my opinion it’s good I like it because there’s a lot of give it’s soft it’s a crossover so that’s how I like it it’s bad because well because of the weight of the vehicle you’d

Expect the suspension to be a little bit stiffer to be able to carry itself much better after all the batteries do weigh uh 400 12 kilos they are very down low but still you can feel the weight of the vehicle in the way that it turns in the

Way that it can Sway in the way that it tips up when you accelerate it and the tires tend to Screech also so yeah you really feel that weight however regardless of how much weight there is inside this car there still is enough power to Screech the tires every so

Often like I said for instance if we were to do the ATU test uh let’s go into bring it up to let’s say 30 km hour we are on sport mode thanks to the mode button right there and then H I’m just waiting on you jack to relax until I do hat you

Okay did you hear the tire Screech that’s okay that scared me man yeah when I did it the first time too I was a bit scared wait it dude this is a not around the corner please let’s do it around the corner oh oh my God stop stop stop for the love of

God the nvh ah there’s something that well it’s maybe because I’m used to how quiet the Tesla MD mg4 is but there is a hum inside this car actually the hum is outside the car you can just hear it inside whether you’re going forward or back and it’s not particular ularly a

Very sexy sound it’s futuristic most yes most definitely but I guess maybe it could be it could be because I got used to the mg4 and the Tesla once again I’m not a big fan of it no I’m not also now that I’m stuck in traffic a little bit

Of traffic I noticed that the brakes on this car are very very sensitive when you’re at speed they work great but when you’re in traffic it tends to bite down quite hard if you just tap on the there it goes when you tap on the brake ever

So slightly it tends to bite right away there is no way of telling it to calm down when you’re in traffic much like the best way to explain it is when you have electronic steering as you do here when you’re on the highway it tight tightens up right and then when you’re

In traffic it loosens up the brakes unfortunately are just sensitive the entire time through and so it’s easier to control when you’re going fast which just basically means don’t ever drive slow in this car I’m not sure that logic checks out but no it doesn’t check out no no I will

Also add that the brakes although sensitive they lack a little bit more oomph in the sense of stopping power because in traffic it’s great but at speed or faster than your normal speeds it will show how heavy the car is and you will want a little bit more stopping

Power not to a point where you need to stand on the brakes no but you just would feel safer if the stopping power of this car were a little bit stronger now we may seem like we’ve been nitpicking on this automobile and it’s true because we’ve been pitting it up

Against other EVS that well the truth is they’re almost twice the price but see for the price that you’re paying in this car you getting an EV for what you would normally get an internal combustion engine 4 plus there are three pillars to this car that you would never think to

Use to describe an EV over the top it is most certainly not it is for all intents and purposes sensible and practical an EV that’s sensible and practical I have to admit when you do get into an EV the first thing that you’re going to expect is

That it’s a knock your socks off kind of a drive in this car you really won’t get that but I tell you anything and everything that it does deliver is everything that you will want or need anyway and at a price point that’s a heck of a lot more affordable to more

Filipino buyers out there because as we mentioned earlier it does fall under 2 million Philippine Pesos it falls exactly at 1,798 th000 Philippine pesos for a crossover and then if you want something even more affordable the AO 3 actually starts at just 1.6 million Philippine
