EV Rental Nightmare | Road Trip Ordeal Exposes Electric Car Risks!
On going on any kind of long drive just the idea of trying to plot out where you’re going to stop to plug in and wait 20 minutes 30 minutes for that battery to not even get to the top is just ludicrous then you realize of course
When you’re looking at a map they they don’t have many places to plug in yeah not a lot of stations charging stations you know we have 16 Republican Governors they’re sending a letter to the White House you got to stop it with the electric car push hello everyone welcome back to
Another episode of Parts talk thank you for joining me I appreciate each and every one of you now have you ever wondered what happens when you take an EV for a long road trip because those who own EVS will only tell you the positives of driving an Eevee but will
Never tell you the preparation they put in before they’re leaving their homes now we’re going to hear from Jason rant who faced a harrowing experience trying to attend a wedding just two hours outside of Seattle now despite requesting a gas car he was stuck with an eveve battling dwindling battery percentages incompatible charging
Stations and a sudden breakdown in the middle of nowhere this isn’t just an inconvenience it’s a safety risk let’s get straight into this video joining us now the host of the Jason rant show he’s Jason rant Jason it’s great to have you back on you know this 2024 races so much
About policy and the issues the Biden White House they want to get rid of all gas cars they want everybody in America to drive electric cars you wrote about your nightmare with your electric car rental can you tell us what happened yeah so I was driving to a
Wedding it happened to be in the middle of nowhere about 90 minutes from Seattle and I rented a car cuz I don’t actually own one and they gave me an EV that was my only choice they gave away the car that I actually wanted and I knew it was
Going to be troubl because how often do you pass any kind of place to plug in on the way to the middle of nowhere and of course as I’m driving there my eyes are glued to the dashboard looking at how many miles I have left before the
Battery dies and by the time I got to the wedding it told me I needed about double the amount of mileage in order to get home so throughout this entire wedding I trying to find a place to plug in and the only place to plug in is a
Tesla location which I wasn’t driving so I was out of luck I finally found one a space a station like 30 m away and I’m driving down it’s very cold out apparently batteries don’t like the cold lots of hills EVS definitely don’t like hills and of course it happen the car
Dies on the side of the road I was there for hours trying to get a tow truck to pick it up no one wanted it was right it was a little bit before midnight it was around 9:00 7 to 9:00 was when this all started but about 900 p.m. is where I’m
Just hanging out there I think at that point I was there for an hour waiting no tow truck would come and this is one of the reasons why Herz actually dumped over 20,000 of their electric vehicle Fleet because they consider them unreliable and not only that they
Depreciate more than 50% of its original value just about after 2 to three years and if you’re in business you’re in business to actually make money her see this as not compatible in the way how they operate their Fleet because when they purchase Vehicles they rent them
And after a while they will actually offload these vehicles in and hope to recoup some of the cost the cost of Maintenance that they have over the years Herz said no more dumped all these vehicles now unsuspected buyers are going to have these vehicles running around by all means a lot of people
Still want to get in on the EV Cris but at the end of the day it’s just not feasible at least not right now let’s continue I was trying to get an Uber to come all the way out and pick me up and of course Herz which I rented from no
Help whatsoever it was such a nightmare but it does wake people up I hope to the reality that we’re nowhere near this Green Revolution of having e sorry to interrupt but Herz is also getting rid of a fifth of its electric car Fleet MH absolutely and they’re making the right decision they should
Unload all of them the only way an EV could work is if you have the setup at your home and you’re really only talking about commuting to work and maybe this is a second car if you can afford one but if you’re planning on going on any
Kind of long drive just the idea of trying to plot out where you’re going to stop to plug in and wait 20 minutes 30 minutes for that battery to not even get to the top is just ludicrous then you realize of course when you’re looking at
A map they don’t have many places to plug in yeah not a lot of stations charging stations you know we have 16 Republican Governors they’re sending a letter to the White House you got to stop it with the electric car push it’s hurting consumers that you know Governors Doug beram Sarah Huckabee
Sanders Glenn yunan they’re saying saying workingclass voters are getting hit by higher energy costs up nearly 33% under Biden a rise of more than 20% in electricity costs as he pushes for green energy yeah that’s all politics right there we’re not getting into that part of it but as he concludes this article
We’ll leave the link in the description box below rans highlight a critical point embracing EV means embracing and facing serious limitations and forget about spontaneous road trips are long drives for essential appointments and if you forget to plug in overnight you could find yourself stranded on your way
From home or from work and the bottom line is while electric cars may offer environmental benefits their practicality is still in question especially for long distance travel so before you make the switch please please consider the potential risk and limitations your safety and convenience should always come first the saga
Continues people also cannot start their electric cars in this Arctic freeze did wind and solar keep people warm in that no of course not and especially depending on where it is we’re talking about there are places like Washington State doesn’t get a whole lot of sunlight for several months out of the
Year and we try to do wind power but wind generally we just also had a cold snap it was incredibly cold ironically the largest supplier of electricity and natural gas sent customers a note telling them when it was about 10 to 15 turn down your thermostats because our
Electricity grid can’t handle the the overload so does anyone truly believe that we’re actually ready for a transition to electricity away from natural gas it’s just not going to happen so you can’t plug in your cars you can’t turn on your heat when it’s cold out that’s not a great
Environmental Policy sounds that way Jason rant thank you for sharing your story with us we appreciate you thanks so what do you think is actually going on with this Net Zero Madness is it just about cars or it just about what our good doctor here has to say let’s take a
Look at this absolute plan is well this is what they said Net Zero means all you peasants who are watching and listening you should pay attention to this Net Zero means zero for you that’s what it means and by plan you little people you don’t need cars God who needs a private
Automobile I knew 15 years ago that the bloody totalitarians would go after the cars because nothing screams Freedom like a 350 horsepower Mustang in the hands of a 16-year-old boy it’s like no we got to clamp down on that he can go wherever he wants and do whatever he
Wants you know cluttering up the planet and producing carbon so it’s like no cars right they the goal is 90% reduction in private automobile uh ownership you think well you get to have an electric car it’s like no the grid can’t sustain electric charging well how
We deal with that how about you peasants don’t get to have cars that’s right right right no cars no flights no meat no heat no air conditioning no container shipping mhm oh yeah well who needs needs who needs goods and the saga continues as usual let me know your
