All right so we are at aim Expo in Las Vegas and my goal at this show was to find cool stuff and I think we found some cool stuff Justin introduce yourself and tell us what you got I am Justin with Calin motorcycles uh I am
The service manager I deal with a lot of the R&D uh I do the SPEC Building I do the teching I do the tearing up of the bikes to really know what these bikes are capable of doing um Calin motorcycles is of course a Chinese manufacturer but the beautiful thing
About these guys is they have been in the motorcycle building industry for over 30 years they have built and manufactured motorcycles for being W so obviously you know the name BMW speaks of high quality that’s all these guys are about uh we have four different models uh that range anywhere from
Street riding to full-blown Motocross style riding there is not a single bicycle Park on these things these are full blown motorcycle bikes nice well let’s start from the bottom all the way to the top all right so right here what we have is the Dual Sport you’re looking
At a 4 KW rated power with a Max of eight uh it comes with the trials tires so if you’re treading down the street you see a trail off road man cut off and take off enjoy it have fun every bike that we have here that is Dual Sport
Street Sport and even the off-road uh can be converted to ride on the streets with a license plate they all have a do registerable VIN number with the DMV all 50 states oh wow um with the off-road of course there’s a few minor changes that
Need to be done to make it Road worthy and safe but for the for the most part everything is registered and ready to go nice You’ve Got High fenders on the front adjustable front forks you’re looking at a 198 Tire setup for the trail riding you got front blinkers rear
Blinkers headlight and your brake light when the bike is powered on for visibility purposes you got a side you got a side light over here and you heard the ticking of course there’s an automatic steering lock just like a motorcycle wow so this is a motorcycle not an
Ebike what um what battery and Motors in here so our battery sizes range from 32 all the way to 60 and the beautiful thing is if a if a kid comes in and says hey man I got enough money to buy the base model bike 32 amp hour maybe I can
Convert later to the Big Brand the beautiful thing is is you pull the battery out you throw the 60 a hour in there’s no changes that need to be done settings don’t have to be changed it’s plug andplay you got more range nice good thing to go yeah how easy is it to
Swap the batteries out you’re looking at about a 15minute job there’s four bolts under the skid plate there’s a bolt here a bolt here and a bolt here okay it literally Falls right out the locking mechanism on the connectors makes for a sure connection so you don’t have to
Worry about it ever breaking loose shaking loose and then you got a faulty connection on your battery and your bike’s doing some crazy stuff so you just have to torque it down to the right it literally locks in oh okay you push in it’ll go click and it locks into
Place it will not come off unless you twist a lock and pull it off gotta gotta everything is internally put up in the chassis which is also a solid one piece Forge chassis there’s not a single weld on this bike it’s a magnesium alloy extremely strong very
Durable it’s IP rated 67 and 68 so you can ride through water up to here and not have any any worries so riding in the rain is not even a problem not even a problem it’s UL certified so you don’t have to worry about anything catching on fire the Battery Technology is patented
It is liquid submerged and this thing will operate in -40° F weather nice they’re currently in the R&D stages of of creating uh two different versions of a snow track kit that will allow you to disassemble the rear swing arm throw on a snow track take off your front wheel
Put on a ski and then you’ve got two toys for the price of one wow take it out in the snow in the winter time take it out on the streets during the summertime that’s cool so that’s that’s the Dual Sport uh over here I’ve got the
Street sport uh for the person that’s not so much into riding it in the dirt uh this is a great local commuter uh something to ride to and from school take it to the store get some groceries whatever you need to do uh top speeds about 53 mph on these things this is
Also DMV and ready to roll throw a license plate on the back and you’re good to go obviously you can see we took off the high fenders we put some Street fenders on the front low fender on the back this thing is ready to rock and
Roll it has the same specs as the Dual Sport you’re looking at 4 and 8 battery capacity starts at 32 goes all the way up to 60 range on these things charge it by the way it’s a 110 charger right it just plugs right in there stick it into the
Wall and you’re good to go the 32 amp hour charges in a little over 2 hours the 60 amp hour takes about 3 and 1/2 that’s not bad it it’s not the range on the 60 amp hour battery if you’re a conservative Rider you can get about 110
Mi out of it wow if you ride like I do cut about 50 off you get about 70 m a rid but that is really really hard riding that’s third speed boost mode engag Full Throttle you know 70 M you’re going to get it I can totally see this
As a awesome neighborhood commuter oh this is a great college kid bike going to high school getting your your your your permit to ride motorcycles it it it’s it’s a it’s a great little town bike yeah don’t have to worry about finding parking it’s good to go the
Charger fits in your backpack you can plug it in anywhere nice very nice so this is our street model uh same price as the Dual Sport which is $54.95 for the base model that’s nice you know what I don’t know if it’s optical illusion but the wheelbase looks long too is it
Pretty wild so so the wheelbases are all the same um this runs a 1717 wheel setup as opposed to the 1918 on the Dual Sport okay and then when we you get to the off-road it’s even a little bit different because it is designed for riding strictly in the dirt
And in the mud you need that turn ability yeah you you want you want as much traction as much control over the bike as you can get this is an extremely aggressive bike this handles straight like a dirt bike because it is designed like a dirt bike you’re running the 1916
Mullet style setup super super thick knobbies you’ve got the reinforced swing arm right here with the the Canever rear susp suspension you’re running the same motor which is a 4,000 rated 8000 Max adjustable rear suspension adjustable front suspension you have the bar risers in the front motorcycle clamp style
Nice that’s one of the things I really like about your bike if I dump this bike I don’t have to worry about the bar you don’t have worry about your bars getting twisted you’ve got some reinforcement right here for the rear fender padded nice and comfortable seat that’s contoured for when you’re riding
If you’re riding long distances you can place your butt back here you got a little bit more cushion when you’re riding out in the dirt you can come up a little bit closer keep it nice and narrow and hug in the tank real quick on the motor is that a direct drive from
The motor it is a direct drive motor there is no gear reduction box there is no separate belt that goes from the motor to a pulley to your chain we are direct drive from the motor to the sprocket and and like you said that’s a
4 kilowatt 4 Kow rated 8,000 Max um you are looking at Shorty levers on the top dot. 3.4 oil so these are DOT approved brakes these are motorcycle calipers motorcycle rotors much thicker than on a standard ebike that you would see for siron Taria or any of those guys nice
Yeah that’s a beefy ABS no not ABS on these no yeah that’s a beefy swing arm a beefy suspension that does not look anything like a bicycle it is not it is not a it is not a bicycle the original version that came out with these guys
And that’s what I love about working with this company um positive feedback they take it they implement it they redesign it and they bring it out so the original off-road bike looked just like the other two models it had the same rear swing arm it had the same everything with just some minor
Aesthetics that were different M we were like that’s not going to work for this we need a dirt bike we need a rear swing arm that is Beefy that can take it this is what they brought us this is what they brought us so when we take feedback
To them because we have two engineers in our shop we have someone someone who’s been riding for over 20 years flat track racers and people that just like to ride motorcycles we take the positive feedback they take it they put it to the engineering department and they fix it I
I got another question for you yeah please so if you’re a new dirt bike rider is there like a a newbie setting so the way all of our bikes work there is a three setting stage okay mhm first setting is going to be your Eco which is
Going to be your lowest top speed your lowest amount of torque and your most rageed friend it tops out at about 25 mph then once you get comfortable and acclimated with the way the bike feels you can hit the button right here which is your enss that’s going to shift you
Into What’s called the sport mode that’s going to get you to about 40 45 M hour it’s going to give you some more torque on the front side get you acclimated a little bit more when you think you’re ready to rock and roll when you’re ready
Really ready to shred you hit it that last time you put it in Sport Plus mode you’re looking at 51 mph top speed and with enough honestly there’s enough torque on the first gear to pop the front end off the ground I mean it’s insane this one is insanely powerful on
The front side so just a hair over 50 then just a hair over 50 you don’t need any more on a dirt bike if you’re riding on the track that’s insanely fast it is it is and it gets there really quick um right here you’ll see two buttons one
Looks like the Red Bull Wings the other one looks like a recycled triangle this is your regen button right here this allows you to cycle through whether you want full Regen you want partial regen or you just want to Free Will it yeah nine times out of 10 people
Are going to go with the regen they want to recycle that unused power back into the battery plus it it also works as an engine brake BR yeah so you don’t wear your brakes out nice the top button here is the Red Bull gives you wings button
When this is lit up all your safety features your your brake locks your everything is out the window this is full beast mode yeah um what this does is this gives you 10 times the amount of torque on the front side than you even need if you are say you’re in San Francisco
You’re trying to climb an extremely Steep Hill you throw it in the boost mode it gives you that much more front power to get up that hill is it for like 10 seconds it is as long as you want it on there wow we didn’t put a stipulation
In a time frame on the boost mode you could leave that sucker on the entire time if you want to which is what I do uh you can feel the difference you can feel the power if you turn it on and turn off you don’t need it n times out
Of 10 but I always like to have it that’s just the way I ride I’m so glad you guys did that the first time I got this bike man I took it out and I tried to break it I did I did everything in my
Power to break it it’s good to know if it’ll break failed I failed miserably uh the worst case scenario that I had was what you encountered where your handlebars got Twisted because the bike mount was not properly seated oh they have since fix that that will never
Happen again nice so the bike is is is almost indestructible I and and when I say I ride hard I go hard in the paint I did everything I could to break as well you should you’re you know you got to know it I can’t stand behind a product
If I don’t believe in it I like it I I believe in this product I don’t have to go back and tighten bolts I don’t have to worry about my battery getting loose I don’t have to worry about anything happening this these guys have done all their homework that’s what they do is
They build motorcycles and they built a great bike speaking of like bolts um what kind of Maintenance just brake pads and chain right yeah you know if you’re out riding in the desert if you’re riding out in the dirt come home wash your chain off relbe your chain simple
Maintenance there’s no oil no gear reduction box no nothing like that I like that so all you have to do is maintain your fluid in your brakes check your pads on occasion make sure your chains semi-tight like it’s supposed to in the realm and you’re good to go man
Make sure your Treads good to go this bike is is almost I want I don’t want to say zero maintenance it as minimal as you can get on a motorcycle yeah I like that even the most beginner could could handle this bike with the maintenance and things like
That you don’t have to be mechanically inclined to maintain this bike yeah that’s one of the things that kind of bugs me about I don’t want to pick on anybody but I hear when someone’s belt breaks and they’re 5 miles away from their truck that’s kind of a pain in the
Butt it is it is um you know we we tried to make it as minimal as possible and as easy to ride this bike as possible it’s a button push it’s a throttle go it’s a Brakes in the front it doesn’t get any more simple than that
Um we are a full service industry so we carry everything that you need we have an insane warranty on these bikes I was just going to ask you about that what is it we we carry us ourselves carry a 5-year warranty on most of the bike wow
And two years on the the the battery motor and controller 5 years is good man wow now if it’s a defect we’ll fix it we’ll replace the part we’ll let you take it to a shop if you’re not local if it’s because you if you if it’s because
You broke it and you wore out and then it failed that’s on you but we covered everything else that’s comforting to know especially because it’s an electronic bike one of the first things you worry about is is electronics going to fail exactly so you guys we cover it
For two years uh when you call the phone you’re going to answer either myself my sales manager or my office manager will always answer the telephone you don’t have to call a 1800 number you don’t have to leave a message you don’t have to send an email we are all about taking
Care of the people who take care of us nice um I know you guys are you guys are relatively new to the US market right um we have been in the US market for about a year um the first year was spent doing product branding getting getting the
Name out there letting people know that we’re here and we’re here to stay uh it it it’s it’s taken a long time in the beginning it was one to two dealers out of 10 would know who we were I was just going to ask how many dealers you got
Right now we’re at 15 I have probably about 50 that I’m going to end up with after this show oh I bet a lot of them are really drawn to that last bike I’m going to show you oh yeah we’re saving the best for last it is it is the best
For last U there’s nothing wrong with the other three uhhuh but the the last one is is is the sh that’s the ludicrous mode it is for sure bro it for sure is so we’ll move on to the last bike over here this is a prototype it is the only one in the
Country um oh I didn’t even get to take this thing out in the dirt because I couldn’t take a chance of something happening there’s only one there’s only one right now and uh unfortunately it got sold before I even got to go ride it
Oh get out of here I’m not I’m not I’m not going to sit here and tell you I’m happy about it because I’m really not I I I I kind of let them know that I’m not happy about what you just did to me um they they took all the positive feedback
All the suggestions they bundled it up into one bike and this is what you get so let’s pump the brakes a little bit and just go slow front to back what are we looking at front to back so you’re looking at the obviously the mullet
Style set setup it has to be done on a dirt bike you got the 21 in the front you got the 18 in the back you’ve got thick reinforced spoke rims you’ve got a super thick rotor to help for the stopping power because 70% of your stopping power on a motorcycle comes
From the front brake it needs to be able to handle the power and the speed those are some big Pistons by the way oh yeah those are big Pistons these guys went all out with this model you’ve got 43 mm front forks no bottoming out you’ve got a reenlarge
Extremely large uh Trail light there’s a trail light on that one you see is a little bit smaller these guys want the extra mile put a bigger one to match the front so it’s not the big body with a little head syndrome it’s like an adventure bike it it it it totally is
It’s got the same display unit as on the other dirt bike what they did for this guy is they put a Billet encased clamp that goes from the bar that encompasses the whole display so you don’t have to worry about if you take a spill your display getting all jacked up broke off
I like it it’s extremely nice it’s got a nice reinforced triple clamp the paint job is beautiful uh it’s a textured matte black uh I fell in love with it the moment I saw this bike beautiful and so did everybody else uh this bike is going to come standard
With a 60 amp battery uh because it has to be able to handle the uh 5 KW of Power with the 12 KW Peak okay so we we don’t want anybody to get short changed on Range it’s still got the 70 to 110 mile range again it’s going to just
Depend on how you ride it just those numbers alone man 70 to they’re nice they’re nice mile ranges they’re nice MERS uh it’s still got this the same reinforced rear suspension with the can lever setup it’s got an extended swing arm to allow for the 18in uh mullet
Style setup um what you have here is the aftermarket pegs that we are going to offer yeah I like that these are replaceable and they’re sharp absolutely boots are not going to slip off the mud and that’s that and that’s what we have to have that was the first accessory
That I made sure that they got on the ball about you need to have traction on your boots man yes the ones that come factory are nice and they’re pretty and they do okay but when I’m riding out in the dirt I need my boots to stick to my
Bike oh yeah this is what they sent me and this is what they got what we have here on the skid plate is an extremely durable uh type of plastic that they found they ran over it the testing they ran over it with a van it didn’t crack it didn’t
Bend they seem to think it’s going to be a great one we are going to offer this in either the plastic to keep your bike lighter or there’s a magnesium aluminum that we are going to offer as well oh nice so you’ll have two options of
However you want to do it the battery is still the liquid submerged uh patented technology able to operate in the 40° f um obviously if you break your kickstand off we can just replace the mount replace the stand the original model that came out the kickstand Mount was
Actually a part of the chassis so if you ever went over a rock and you broke that nub off you would have to replace the whole chassis so that again is one of the things I love about these guys is they take the feedback they implement it
They redesign it and they bring it out so now this a kill switch or something it is a safety switch oh okay one of the things that I found after doing Electrify Expo and doing certain Expos where I’m letting guys who are seasoned Riders test ride these
Bikes they do this and then the bike does that they end up in the fence they end up wiping out so what that does is that Mak sure that the rider is ready to go everything’s good and you know you’re fixing to takeoff so if that is down
Bike’s not going to go throttle’s dead M if the drive button is not engaged the throttle is going to be dead nice so the the rider has to be 100% ready to go before the bike is going to go that comes in handy at any show man people are touching your
Bike you have no idea how how often that happens like so that’s why I don’t touch the D button whenever I’m doing stuff like this because people do this they they don’t mean to they just want to know how it feels how how how tight is that throttle how responsive is that
Throttle not knowing that you know hey I was just doing a demonstration and I have it in drive and they do this and the bike takes off on them so this is is the the the this has been the most popular bike that we have had people
