Detailed Review of the Lectric Xpeak Electric Bike

Detailed Review of the Lectric Xpeak Electric Bike

The X Peak is here this is electric ebikes newest ebike built for off-roading it’s their first ebike ever with 26in fat tires featuring an rst Renegade front fork and spec to emtb standards and the motor is whisper quiet I’ll put it through its Paces next on the Channel He M All right guys here’s the X $112.99 on the electric website uh they are offering a bunch of accessories with it if you buy the ebike it comes with no fenders no rack so you can get the rack fender and I think the baskets for the

Front and the rear if you buy today uh more pre-order start in sh shipping in March so uh that’s when you’ll get it uh this is Electric’s first 26in ebike um they did a pretty good job with it and we’ll get into the uh good and the bad

Of it uh but I expect you know electric to compete in literally every type of category on the ebike market right uh their CEO Levi has been on record saying they want to dominate each category um this category itself might be a little bit harder to do that cuz there’s

So many 26 X4 ebikes out there but uh that’s their goal so I would expect them to come out with more ebikes in 2024 uh I would maybe guess maybe a 27in commuter ebike maybe an ebop head that would be cool um so we’ll have to see

What electric does this year but stay tuned for that this is the high step comes in the low step as well low step comes in a white kind of two-tone color and you can see the nice paint job electric did there on the side very nice subtle very good looking Graphics right

There uh nothing too garish and I like the overall look and feel and you got to love that new uh Renegade rst Fork uh that little badging there and just really looks like a toughy bike um all the way around so let’s talk about the uh geometry a bit this bike weighs

67 lbs so it’s on the lighter side for a 26 inch uh fat tire so that’s that’s good news there uh 75 in Long uh 302 in uh stand over height with the top bar payload capacity of about 330 lbs and if it’ss Rider Heights from 57 to 65 so

This this is definitely more of a taller Rider more big eyy ebike uh for you Riders out there so keep that in mind I think the step through will be a little more accommodating for a shorter Rider but just keep mind it’s a fairly sizable ebike um if you’ve never ridden an ebike

Before and you’re on the shorter side Maybe maybe the XP3 or the XP light might be a bit better choice for you highlights on the xpak definitely the front 4K rst Renegade uh 80 mm of travel uh you know retail this thing goes for like close to 400 bucks according to

Electric and uh it’s a really great shock nice bounce there I’ll get you a shot of that um and uh you have to love that aspect of it I love the uh The Branding on it too looks great and uh Le did a nice job with this whole front

Wheel setup here just looks awesome looks tough and uh looks off-road if you will another highlight is the motor 750 wats back here rear hub motor Peaks at 1310 and it’s a whisper quiet 400% quieter than the previous version which is on the electric Expedition uh if you’ve

Seen that ebike uh it’s a pretty noisy motor and I would agree uh this one’s really quiet guys I’ve had it on the road I hear the tires more than I hear the motor that’s always a great sign for a quiet motor so you got to love that

From Electric great job guys okay here’s what the Expedition motor sounds like this one this one is a louder version of the 750 [Applause] wat now here’s the X Peak Motor so this bike is built for off-roading guys so it’s emtv safety tested uh the frame The Handlebar the

Stem assembly and suspension Fork all tested to the iso 4210-2 safety standard meaning that it’s durable and uh able to take on even the most rugged of terrains so I tested it out in Phoenix there on some of those Rocky uh trails that got there in the

Deserts and uh yeah just it did excellent on those Trails um and uh I’m going to put it through a test as well so I won’t do a massive off-road test today as part of this video but the next video I’ll do a kind of a longer Offroad

Road test and take you with me uh on that ride so stay tuned for that we’ve also got a 48 volt 14 a battery here in the down tube it’s located on the bottom of the ebike here is the charge port here the key slot is

On the other side if you want to take the battery out U my keys are attached to the cables up there so here’s your key slot there so you’re going to un undo that battery pops out you can charge the bike charge the battery inside or out we’ve got hydraulic disc

Brakes on these ebikes so these are 180 rotors down here and these I think are the zoom hydraulic brakes um for each of the other Wheels uh so again 14 battery now that’s probably one of the uh negatives about the bike it’s not a long range new bike I don’t think so

Here’s what electric shows you as the pedal assist ranges uh PS1 uh 55 Mi PS2 44 PS3 34 PS4 23 MI PS5 20 M total if you’re doing PS5 going uh you know 20 M hour on that I did unlock this ebike as well so you probably a little bit less throttle

Only I mean throttle only you’re only going to get like uh 20 15 miles on the throttle so uh keep that in mind I’m sorry throttle only on PS5 12 miles in terms of the overall range so that’s that’s fairly low right so but again uh if you’re doing throttle only

On PS3 for example you get 18 PS2 you get 30 miles so there you go on the uh electric now it’s using the PW uh controller system in here which is kind of a cross between a torque sensor and a Cadence Sensor it uh uses wattage to uh

Push out the different outputs uh to the the speeds so it’s all based on wattage um you get certain wattages levels as you go up in the PS levels but you do still kind of get stuck around you know certain uh uh speed limits there and

They do list them here on on the website um if you want to go through some of those so check out the web page I’ll put a link in the description as well so what’s talk about my likes to the ebike I’ll go over the dislikes at the end so

Stay tuned for that uh but first of all this is a UL listed ebike right so you have to worry about safety there electric starting do get all their ebikes certified from ul and you have to like that aspect of what they’re doing there um just gives you a peace of mind

And uh it gives you uh confidence in the company overall uh the paint job is great of course talked about that a bit um uh the packaging so I’ll show you a picture on the screen uh no more phone guys so electric is actually moving towards green packaging uh using

Biodegradable pieces in there kind of like almost like cardboard kind of wrap using ties to tie it all together and keep the bike clean and he it’s to like like the aspect from Electric keeping the environment clean as well so no more foam and I’m not going to miss that

Stuff anyway so thanks a lot electric other little details uh the light placement up front uh it’s on top of the handlebars essenti ually um there’s attached to the handlebars I like that placement gives the bike a little different look and uh whenever you get these ebikes with the uh with the

Headlights down here on top of the fork there always a pain in the ass to install especially with the fender it’s hard to do that you need two hands uh and you have to basically screw in you know you hold the wrench there on one

End and screw it in on the other side it’s just a pain so the fact that they put it up top here is a great idea so thanks a lot uh over here we’ve got the chain guard uh so if you any slapping there it’s going to protect your chain

Uh 11 to 28 to free wheel back here so no ghost pedaling at all got the do guard as well and uh look at the cutouts here on the uh on the rims they went with rectangles uh the original version I think had circles uh or maybe no

Cutouts and uh these look great um my only suggestion would be maybe have like a nice like electric blue in there um or even a white maybe would looked cool although that probably get Pretty Dirty but I look the electric blue color would be awesome just be this pop uh with that

Inner tube in there but uh pretty a nice job on the cutouts the wheel looks just look the wheel looks awesome with this Fork uh with the blacked out tires and uh black spoke so nice job other than that just the overall looks and the value you get here for $12.99 it’s hard

To find a uh an ebike like this now there are a lot of 26x 4S in the market some good some bad some ugly um you know this is this is a pretty good compar it’s not the best 26 by4 in the market by far uh you can spend more money and

Get more of that for $112.99 uh I think my comparable would be like the hemway uh Cruiser that’s a 26 by4 with a similar style frame uh a little bit old older ebike theyve had that bike out for a couple years at least um 17 12 amp hour battery on the

Leg on the himay versus the 14 here however the hway only comes with mechanical brakes so a little bit of a trade-off there but if you want more range you can look at something like that as well but for what you’re getting here for $1299 you know this is

Basically a kind of a single UC bike almost it’s for off-roading um that’s why I didn’t put a bigger battery in there uh you know that that that battery will will let you go for 2 three hours out and out in your Trails there and uh let you have fun so

It’s kind of what the purpose is um and if you you can actually upgrade the battery you can add a second one aftermarket if you want to go check out the guys over at the electric allhe Channel on YouTube they’ve got dual battery setups for every electric ebike

Out there as well as other ebikes as well and I’ve done that with my electric XP light you could certainly add a battery back here you’d have to basically mount everything on the rack um including the battery balancer but um yeah the uh controller is uh down in

Here under here and then the wires come out from the bottom so you can easily route the wires down under come up around here into a little bag up here uh for your second battery if you choose to do that so just remember that whenever you modify your bike with the

Electronics you’re going to avoid the warranty so beware buy beware there all right here’s your cockpit hangout you got the ergonomic grips you got your hydraulic brakes here you got the seven-speed paddle shifter and you get a right side thumb throttle um and they use this more for you know it’s better

For mountain biking so that’s why they use a thumb throttle here it’s their first time doing that um I like it although one thing I’m worried about just like breaking the the throttle a little bit versus the one that kind of push down on um I kind of like that one

Better just the overall ergonomics this one you have to basically go down here and do it you got your control pad here let’s turn the bike on of course you got the display it sits right above that headlight there um and uh your typical same display you get with all the

Electrics you got 1 two 3 four five levels of assist you’ve got different modes down here trip a you got your voltage or fully charged current time odometer 8 Miles so far on the bike and uh yeah there you go so typical stuff from the folks at

Electric all right here we go on the X Peak first road test PS5 unlocked you can hear those uh tires down there those Chia yangs this corner here the sun has arrived in the Northeast finally after like a month of known seems like and uh looking forward towards

Spring guys so hope you are too get those wind noises with that Fender let’s go do our speed test and check out the levels and then uh continue on with the day here you do sit a little bit forward on the cike uh it’s thanks to the flat

Handlebar so I may upgrade those to something more sweepy but let’s see here all right in PS1 I’m in uh gear 7 so and this is a wattage limited here so we’re doing like 8 m hour PS1 p S 2 going to climb up to like about 12 uh 12.9 13 okay

PS3 why that wind today is crazy uh we’re at 16 PS4 here we go we’re at uh 20 mph PS4 unlocked all right PS5 here we go top speed run I did verify the speed already so it’s accurate we’re at 23 24 25 26 27

27.4 top speed 27.4 and that run oo it’s coold that wind just creates like whistling sounds under that Fender down there that is annoying as here’s a look at the shock you can see how bouncy it is so really it’s a great great shock overall probably the best shock I’ve ever gotten

On an ebike uh I can tell look at that all right one more speed test here here we go 24 26 27 28 there’s 28 all right if you’ve never ridden a 26 in Fat Tire Bike before it’s a different EXP in something smaller 20x 4 20

X3 it’s more of a lumbering ebike you really have to uh just it feels bigger underneath you cuz it is and uh and it’s not as Nimble of course so definitely keep that in mind all right Hill test time so uh with the with the electric Expedition that’s one of my

Best hill climbers I’ve gotten so far so this say the same motor let’s see how well it does compared to against that one I’ll have to go back at my video and look and see what the minimum speed was uphill but uh hopefully it uh it matches

It all right I’m going to start out throttle only then we’ll hit start pedaling in uh fourth gear once we get closer to the steeper part of the hill so here we go PS5 throttle only good kick off the line 10 mph climbing 11.4 12 miles an hour 14 15 comes that wind

Again all right so at this um white mailbox up here I’m going to start pedaling I’m not pedaling now actually this is where it gets steeper so 16 it’s pushing me it’s doing good all right slowing 14 13.5 12.8 wow this doing really good it’s not going to dip below 12

11.9 11.9 mph minimum speed uphill let’s call 12 that’s pretty good guys 750 watt very good hill climber uh with the Expedition here all right a downhill run test the brakes and then we’ll wrap this up talk about my dislikes too stay tuned for that I’ll call out speeds as we around the

Corners test the brakes at the end boy it’s cold out here it’s like 42° all that’s 18 M hour here we we go 24 27 28 29 Here Comes 30 30 m an hour 31 hit the brakes nice controlled stop how about that all right guys so not the fastest downhill it’s a little bit you know bigger tires a little bit slower there

Um so let’s go wrap this up give my dislikes and we’ll uh let’s go to the woods since this is an off-road ebike and we’ll wrap it up in the woods stay Tuned we’re going to go in here in this old section of woods here used to be a road I think there was like a dam over there all right so let’s talk about the X Peak uh give you a better shot of it here and it’s element you see this whole Road

Here it like this part I think this was this was a lake at some point you can see how it curves here um and they took out the dam and Stream in the middle yeah I’m pretty sure it was a leg at one point um anyway

So dislikes I got a few of course the seat uh this is a pretty hard seat uh not much cushion here so I just getting a Cloud9 maybe getting a suspension SE post as well to kind of round out the uh back part there um the cable management

Was pretty iffy when I got this thing so it was in the way of the headlights so what I did was I threw a zip tie right here so I could just bring it down closer U there basically up here in front of the headlight so a

Strain the cable management is a little little wonky if you ask me um but use a zip tie to kind of move it into place and uh create a v here for the headlight space to uh illuminate uh particularly if you’re riding at night other than

That I mean the brakes are a little soft and not as gri as I’d like to be um I did uh use a little sandpaper grit on them before I took it out today just to help uh increase the grip a little bit better there so you can try that you

Just get a really gritty sandpaper and go around uh the side of the rotors a couple of times that may help um but other than that I mean the batter is on the smaller side of course uh but $12.99 it’s hard to complain about that um for

The X Peak and uh the overall value there’s lots of comp competition out there so electric has its uh work cutout form in terms of this class of ebike uh there’s lots of great ebikes out there in the 26 by4 class I had that trxas explorer that was a really cool bike U

Of course I got my uh a run a Kepler that’s 1,000 watt that goes a lot faster than this there’s the wired Freedom now uh lots of good ebikes out there in the 26 X4 category him’s got a bunch as well so uh but uh this is kind of a nice it’s

A nice em TB for the Casual Rider out there it’s great for trails and I think that uh you’ll really like it when you get this ebike haven’t heard too many problems I saw one other YouTuber uh I forget the guy’s name uh his rear rack

Bolts had sheared off on the bottom down here I guess somebody had crunched the rack down and knocked the bolts off um one of his tires was flat I think but no problems out of this box uh everything worked and uh no complaints there so so

Come with a 2 amp charger you got the uh quick release pedals down here that you can pop out and pop in um so it’s a really nice addition to the electric lineup and we’ll see what they come up with next so uh but uh stay tuned for the off-road test that’ll be

The next video on the XP and we’ll see you next time on crisscross thanks for watching W
