2024 Tesla Model 3 Review: Improved in almost every way
The Tesla Model 3 hardly needs any introduction it’s been one of the biggest selling electric cars since it was introduced in 2017 and now it is time for a serious update with this new 2024 version one of the first things that you will notice about this updated 2024 model 3 are these sleeker

Renowned for so we’ve now got a drag coefficient of 0.22 which is very low on the model 3 so that’s really good other significant updates well the suspension’s been changed apparently we’re told the uh noise and vibration in the cabin has been drastically improved materials in the cabin apparently it’s
Going to handle better it’s going to be quieter there is loads going on with this facelift not only that but some of the other tweeks in the cabin you’ve now got indicators on buttons on the steering wheel you can only get two models right now the stand standard rear
Wheeel drive costs just under £40,000 hits 60 mph in 5.8 seconds and will do 344 M to a charge according to official wltp tests the dual motor longrange model costs nearly £50,000 and gets all-wheel drive does the same sprint in 4.2 seconds and has a claimed maximum
Range of 421 mil the rapid performance models aren’t around at the moment and Tesla says they’re not coming but this is a company that is renowned for doing things that it is promised it won’t do right well whz around the practicality on the model 3 cuz it hasn’t really changed for this
Update so you still have the big Saloon boot opening here and you have actually huge amounts of luggage space so 594 lers which is vast by the standards of this class but unfortunately because of the opening it’s all very sort of lesser box shaped so it’s not that practical
You do actually get a little bit more space you got a couple of pockets either side here for this update um but there you go got space for your cables under there and also a huge frunk as well so you’ve got loads of storage in this this

Model 3 it was one of the areas that a lot of people complained about before and I do think that the company’s it’s it really has it’s done a good job it does feel much marter in here I particularly like the sort of fabric finish that you get on the cheaper model
That we’ve got here uh so I think that’s good you get a bit more vegan leather if you go for the dual motor but nonetheless it feels really nice in here I don’t think it’s quite as good quality as the postar 2 for instance um certainly not the BMW I4 but still it’s
An improvement and it feels really smart not least because of the design because it’s just so minimalist in here there are no buttons anywhere I’ve already mentioned those indicator buttons there on the steering wheel which I’ll talk more about in a minute when I drive the
Car but even the sort of Gears that you select so you put it into drive on the screen as well it all takes from getting used to all of these touch screens in every modern car takes a bit of getting used to but with the Tesla it’s also a
Bit sort of freaked you out initially cuz it’s all muscle memory isn’t it if you’ve been driving a long time and you suddenly get in a car that has no Stalks at all it’s just weird so getting used to where everything is in here including the windscreen wipers although there is
A single button up here for a single switch of your windscreen wipers it does look great and I do think that this minimalist design really does work you still can’t get Apple carplay or Android auto in the model 3 but the 15-in touchscreen has arguably the most
Intuitive menu layout out there and you can see how developers have really thought about making the important stuff accessible in one or two presses I drove the byd seal recently you can check out that review on the cararo UK Channel too and while that screen rotates this is definitely a more intuitive layout

I sort of like in some aspects on a windy country road like this it feels quite good but on the motorway it does feel too nervous feel like you know if you if you sneeze you’re going to change lane completely it’s really quite sharp but on a good Road or just on a
Roundabout even at moderate speeds handled really nicely drives out corners really slick really smooth really predictable throttle response quite like the one Pedal brake regen that you get there’s no variation that’s just what you have I really like that sort of decisiveness that Tesla has that doesn’t
Include all the drive modes that you get on most other cars you know your sport comfort and Eco all of that stuff there aren’t a million different brake regen modes to choose from all of the sort of trappings that you typically get with most cars these days Tesla just doesn’t
Bother with it and I quite like that I think it’s that attitude that people really enjoy about Tesla but it is really nice to drive now the model 3 and even in this slower car so 5.8 seconds to 62 there’s so much acceleration you really don’t need more and it’s not just
That but it’s all the sort of it’s all the details isn’t it it’s the dash cam that’s built into the system it’s the Sentry mode that alerts you if somebody comes near the car it’s things like dog mode where you can set the climate control on and the car locks itself and
Leaves a message up it’s such a simp simple idea but nobody else does it and Tesla’s so clever at that I do still wish that it had a head-up display everybody in the media has been banging on about this for years but the speedo up here on the screen it’s just a bit
Too small it’s not natural for me to be looking at it there it would be so easy for Tesla to offer a head-up display option I think even if it’s a cost option you don’t get many options on a Model 3 it’s pretty much what color do
You want what Wheels do you want and that’s it other than that you get what you see I still wish that the steering Rim here were a bit Slimmer and a bit nicer has it been improved in terms of the way you drive with these indicators
And things I think it’s a case of getting used to the fact that you’ve got all this muscle memory of using stalks behind the steering wheel and it’s very unsettling to get into a car that has none of that I don’t actually think this
Is better than a stalk I do think that a stalk does the job better you know it does feel like a little bit of a solution to a problem that wasn’t there however I’m sure it has saved Tesla some production costs and that helps to keep
The cost down as for Real World Range we found the rear wheel drive model 3 that we are testing here to be very efficient it managed 271 miles to a charge despite being driven mostly over quite fast Motorway miles in quite chilly conditions so expect that to creep up to
Around 320 to 330 mi in warmer summer temperatures there is no doubting that the Tesla Model 3 still represents fantastic value for money I mean especially given the equipment that you get now so you get heated and cooled seats as standard you do have to pay

The 2024 Tesla Model 3 is a refreshed version of one of the UK’s most popular electric cars. Similar in size to a BMW 3 Series or Audi A4, the Model 3 in some ways competes in a very traditional sector of the market.
