2024 Z NISMO: Braking | Nissan Garage Exclusives

I’m here with Christian Spencer with Nissan R&D and we’re taking an in-depth look at engineering on the 2024 Nissan Z Nismo now we’re slowing things down talking about brakes Christian often times with performance cars the headlines you see are about horsepower and torque but that all has to be curbed

By some serious stopping power so tell me what you’ve done to enhance the braking system on zismo sure well braking is a really important performance category for track driving and so we made three unique changes the first is the brake rotor sizes up it’s 14 in on the Z performance and it’s 15

In on the Z Nismo we also applied a akono braking system this is unique for Nismo as well it has a four piston fixed caliper up front a two piston at the rear and another component we changed was the pad friction material it’s got a higher coefficient rtion and higher

Temperature resistance and it allows us to meet that 30-minute track driving performance requirement that we set on this car thanks so much for watching check out the other videos in this series to learn more about the 2024 Nissan zis

The massive stopping power of the 2024 Nissan Z NISMO helps drivers stay confident — on and off the track. Nissan Research and Development engineer Christian Spencer discusses enhancements including larger rotors and revised pad friction material.
