Kawasaki Releases New Electric Motorcycles – FAIL?!
All right everybody welcome back doing a little different video today so the other day I was on a long car ride and uh just got bored and was sometimes I’ll do this where I just go on different manufacturers websites and kind of take a look see what they’ve got see if
Anything slipped past me that I didn’t really notice was coming out or weird quirky bikes things like that so I was on Kawasaki’s website right and um go under let’s just go to the Z first so Z series they have their z125 Pro e400 you know all those bikes right then
I see this C1 I didn’t even know that Kawasaki was making an electric bike looks kind of cool kind of like a cool commuter bike I’ve never owned an electric bike maybe this could be something that I’m possibly interested in definitely at least want to check it
Out um so I go over here and let’s see what it says featuring zero emissions Road in Eco modes dual removable batteries which I’ll throw in a clip of right here and um EB boost fun and uh eboost function walk mode which I guess just doesn’t have neutral like a regular gas bike
Does so it kind of just goes back and um backwards and forwards uh light Nimble motorcycle handling Kawasaki Z motorcycle design so let’s take look I mean and also being at what 7599 MSRP not bad for a brand new bike and an electric bike I don’t I for some part of
Me just thinks that drives up the price a little bit but not bad not bad at all so let’s do no clutch operations numerous charging options let’s te check out this specs gotcha gotcha so let’s see all right Tech technology eboost electric power got power mode smartphone connectivity walk mode zero missions
Always saw saw most of that all right Power air cooled interior permanent magnet synchronous motor okay Power modes two mode Road in Eco plus EB Boost Max Speed by mode road which is the higher mode 53 mil an hour 53 mil an hour or 63 with EVO Bo I don’t know what
The EB boost is or how you use it but um yeah it’s something the bike has so 63 milph with eboost Eco 40 mil hour 45 miles an hour with eboost okay this this really threw me for Loop when I was checking out this bike and kind of confused me I don’t
Know what’s up with that 53 miles hour or 63 mil hour with EB boost don’t most people that get I’m I’m not much of just an onroad guy I got a lot of dual Sports and everything but don’t a lot of people that go on the road want something a little bit faster
Than 63 miles hour I mean that kind of barely keep up with tra the flow of traffic on a 55 M hour road you’re going to be just hanging on there pretty much I don’t know okay let’s keep looking though rated Power Max Power Max torque
I don’t really know 29.7 pound feet of torque not really sure what that translates to but uh lithium ion battery pack there’s two of them that was kind of cool how they’re removable and battery voltage 50.4 volts um on each of those batteries battery range what the heck 41 miles 41 miles that’s
That doesn’t seem like a lot that just doesn’t seem like a lot to me I don’t know and I don’t know the zero motorcycles are the only other electric motorcycles that I know of Harley may have one I think out but oh man I I I
Don’t know how that compares to them it doesn’t seem like a lot it maybe it’s good for someone going to work 10 to 15 miles every day and back but you can’t really take a detour it just doesn’t seem like a lot right battery charge time 3.7 hours
Times 2 you’re going to have to charge each battery for nearly four hours okay transmission type single gear shifter me mechanism push button I’m thinking that just means going from like drive to neutral to reverse um performance let’s see you got that then okay curb weight so 297.00 dual
Sport comes in at like what 300 lb I believe so that’s right there right there with it I thought it was going to be more heavy for some reason um not too bad just that top speed in the range really throws me for a loop and I don’t
Know how to feel about that um I don’t know let’s check out the before we get too far let’s check out the other one the ninja E1 ninja E1 7899 like $300 more I think it looks I mean it’s just a different looking bike but I think it looks H cooler
But they’re two different bikes um specs and details let’s check it out power okay Road 55 miles per hour or 65 m per hour with ebo Eco 40 miles per hour or 47 miles per hour with eboost so pretty much the same thing 2 miles hour more they’re
Claiming on that battery range yep same thing 41 miles approximate in Road mode without EcoBoost so that’s not if that’s 41 mies if you’re not boosting around it oh 65 miles an hour no you got to be at 55 and it lasts that long so yeah this
Is pretty much the same thing we don’t have to go back through everything but I just don’t really understand why why they did this it doesn’t seem I don’t know I’m I’m curious to see how it do maybe see one in person let me know if you guys have seen these in
Dealers yet or seen them in person or even been been able able to ride one and maybe it’s a fun time I don’t know it just seems like it’s slow and not much of a range maybe what Kawasaki is doing there is they’re um they’re going to be
Opening up the aftermarket market and kind of just getting your feet in the door with this lower is price of you know seven eight grand and then they’re going to want you to maybe upgrade your batteries or something like that and you’ll be able to get some more power
Out of the bike and maybe some more range that’s a possibility I know people upgrade their suron ebikes and everything from like what 32 volts to 72 or something like that so maybe this is that’s a thing and that’s kind of where they’re shaping
This up to go I don’t know let me know what you guys think in the comments about this I just wanted to make a video about it because I had no clue about it until I randomly saw it on their website so yeah let me know what you guys think
Is it something interested in getting let me know appreciate youall watching and I’ll see you guys in the next video
