2024 Toyota RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid

The Toyota Rav 4 and this is the top Trim in the prime which means plug-in hybrid version so it’s the most expensive Rav 4 you can get but has a ton of luxurious features yes I use the word luxurious to describe a Toyota Rav 4 but there’s just a ton of features
Inside that I love the body style hasn’t changed we get the blue around the Toyota emblem here signifying it’s a hybrid product all of Toyota products will have some blue on its badging when it’s a hybrid and they have a ton of hybrids we have a nice black grill this
Is the midnight color and we get a black contrast roof which I actually really like and you can get it on all of the colors on the Rav 4 Prime this is all-wheel drive which is standard in Canada but in the US you can get a front-wheel drive base models not in the
Prime in the prime you have to go with the all-wheel drive because it gets two electric motors we have beautiful Wheels we get the huge plug-in hybrid badging here and we have uh bodyc colored door handles which I like and then black mirror caps to go along with the black
Roof sorry it’s beeping at me because the key is inside and I just touched the uh lock the body style doesn’t change for 2024 but it looks great it’s a it’s a very popular body style very popular uh vehicle all around as you can see we
Have the xsc which is the top trim and our Rav 4 prime prime signifying the uh plug-in hybrid you might be wondering what this okay sticker means here in British Columbia that means I can use the HOV lane which is the uh carpool lane or a high occupancy vehicle Lane on
Highways and in BC only electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids can get that okay sticker I wish all of the oems would give me the okay sticker when I have a plug-in hybrid or an EV Power on the tech package so in the US it’s called the premium package in Canada it’s the tech
Package back here we get a household plug lots of room we have a JBL 11 speaker sound system as part of the um Tech package which I love the sound system in here is really good and a spare tire we even get a privacy shade
Here on this top trim and the back seats fold 60/40 split okay we have lots of room back here yes this is in my driving position and I’m 5 foot one but as you can see I have lots of room back here we do have a little hump but it’s nothing
Too serious two USBC Chargers and vents back here this is soft Tex which is Toyota’s way of saying not real leather but it’s a really nice surface they’re soft these seats are cushy and comfortable we have a center console with two cup holders and then this Pano
Sunroof is a part of the tech package to I believe or the premium package in the US and then we of course have two latch infant car seat systems for um child car seats but we do have a tether 43 back here although I’m not sure if this is
Wide enough for three three car seats across um we do have some plastic here on the handle but then we get a soft leather top with red stitching this is part of the tech or in in Canada it’s part of the tech package but in the US
It’s part of the cold weather package uh the heated outboard seats here in the second row which is a nice touch and then although it’s hard for you to see we get a nice kind of a rubberized door handle here and that rubberized uh uh touch the surface carries uh throughout
The front on the knobs and the door handle for the driver there’s some other R rubber uh touch surfaces that I like about the Rav 4 and I’ve seen that in other trims of the Rav 4 not just in this top trim all right being a plug-in hybrid it starts in electric mode
Unfortunately I’ve drained the battery already today so we don’t have any electric range but it will drive in pure electric range to start we have a fully digital gauge cluster and we have a really nice big head-up display I know that’s always really hard to see on
Camera but that is uh also part of the tech package that I keep referring to uh we have wireless carplay and I like how um very responsive it is so it’s a nice big full screen carplay very responsive I was able to connect to it with uh Bluetooth rather
Than via USB like some cars I I like this big screen but I don’t like how high up it it pops up off of the dash it kind of restricts my vision a little bit I have to actually lift my seat a bit higher to see over it and as I was
Saying the rubberized uh material is also on the volume knob which I really appreciate and also on the climate knobs here it’s it just gives you really great grip when you’re trying to change the climate as you can see we have dual zone climate control heated and vented seats
Again the vented seats is part of the tech package in Canada and the cold weather package in the US we have a uh 12vt and a rubberized well it’s not really rubberized but it is a little bit grippy a wireless charging pad here with a USB port there is two USBC ports
Inside the center console and then we get a nice solid gearshift knob this here means you can charge and hold your battery where it’s at and then here is just Auto uh EV HV so electric mode mode hybrid mode and then we do have Drive um
Drive modes here if you want to look at this screen it’s actually really nice graphic when you put it into sport mode and then we just have Eco and normal but I like the graphic it looks really good and uh two really nice deep uh cup holders oh I should mention Trail mode
As well yes this is an all-wheel drive so it just puts it in trail mode which I would imagine just adjusts the suspension a little bit or uh maybe makes it fulltime all wheel drive instead of part-time um this is kind of cool and unfortunately again I don’t
Have any I don’t have any um battery left but this graphic will show you while you’re driving whether it is the gas powerered engine that is powering your four wheels which too sometimes it’s two wheel drive sometimes it’s four-wheel drive and which when your battery is powering so we have two
Electric Motors in this uh plug-in hybrid as well and then let’s talk about the dash for a sec so we have a really nice leather with red stitching and a nice little ledge here you could easily fit a couple of smartphones there and a nice I also love the um smart rear view
Mirror it is so great if you have passengers in the back seat or Cargo in the rear that is restricting your view plus it is so clear the other thing I love is the 360 back camera on this and uh this is Again part of the tech
Package and this is see-through so Oops I did not mean to zoom in oh I didn’t even know you could do that okay that’s wild but anyway when you’re backing into a spot that what you see is the gray part it will show you what is underneath
The car so if you’re crossing a line a painted line or if there’s um signage on the pavement you will see that as it moves moves like this it is wild and I love it that is a Toyota Lexus thing so great all right let’s take this Rav 4
Prime for a drive you can probably hear the engine noise and that is so typical for Toyotas when it transitions from Pure electric to gas powerered or or boots itself out of hybrid mode it is pretty noisy that’s that’s a Toyota thing in my experience this is a 2 and
1/2 lit 4cylinder plus two electric motors with a combined 302 horsepower it is quick I read somewhere that this can outpace the 4cylinder Supra uh from 0 to 60 I don’t know about that I’m not doing any 0 to 60 tests in a Rav 4 but it is very comfortable to
Drive I love this size I love how agile it is and it does have good get up and go I was wrong it is not Nightfall the color is called blueprint so with all the features in here what do you think I mean I love the luxury features like the
Rear view camera the panoramic sunroof the heated invented seats of course Toyota safety Sense 3.0 and that crazy backup camera I love it uh what do you think so the Rav 4 starts at 36,000 Canadian or $30,000 but that is the gas powerered nonhybrid base model which in the US is
A front-wheel drive in Canada all-wheel drive is standard on all Rav 4 then we go up to hybrid then we go up to this Prime which is the plug-in hybrid 42 miles in range which is over 60 kilometers in electric range and all these features with the tech package or
