2025 BMW iX3 electric car successor previewed: New Porsche Macan EV rival takes shape with concept

Hello Tim from Cars guide here in Portugal where BMW has just ripped the covers off this this is the BMW Vision NOA classer X concept now this previews an all new model coming for BMW and it’s an electric SUV around about X3 size but what’s exciting is that we’re going to

See it in production guys a lot sooner than you might think so stick around cuz we’re going to tell you everything we know about this concept and The crucial new model that it previews this is the BMW Vision Noya classer X and in BMW land the word Vision means concept but

From what we were told by BMW insiders at the global unveiling this concept is very close to the production model it follows the Striking Noya class sedan concept that was uncovered at last year’s Munich motor show the big question is what will the production model be called there’s been a lot of

Speculation that this will become the next generation3 which is the fully electric version of BMW’s midsize SUV the X3 however BMW Executives were very quiet on the name of the production model even when asked if it would be called ix3 a couple of BMW Executives were a little

Dismissive of this name without saying too much Noya classa refers to the architecture of the vehicle and so that probably won’t be used as part of the model’s name it’s more likely that the production version of both the sedan and the X SUV will sit alongside existing

Name plates like the 3 Series and the X3 but that will be confirmed later it’s set to go into production at BMW’s Hungarian plant in 2025 so expect it to hit Australian Shores in about 2026 in the metal the vision NOA class X is a stunner BMW was smart enough to

Bring the sedan concept along to this reveal event in Portugal to compare the similarities and differences of the two concepts there are very few lines on the X Concepts panels and it is the definition of Clean automotive design it’s the opposite of fussy and is familiar yet futuristic at the same time

The cool vertical front light signature could make it to production in some form and BMW has done away with chrome at the front replacing it with more lighting to create a new take on BMW’s kidney Grill the tail lights are not too far off the lights of the sedan but they have their

Own identity for the SUV it has a low set window line and the signature Hoffmeister Kink on the C pillar remains but it’s done with paint rather than Chrome ditching Chrome is part of BMW’s commitment to a more environmentally friendly approach to production inside the allnew interior design is minimal

But also Ultra Modern BMW says the tech elements complement and interact with each other it includes a new panoramic Vision instrument display that is customized ible and projects key information across the full width of the wind screen it also has a new angled Central touch screen and a new Advanced

Version of its intelligent personal assistant voice control a new haptic steering wheel adds to the high-tech Vibe of the cabin but don’t expect the production model to have the same seats underpinning the concept and the future production model will be BMW’s sixth generation e Drive technology a fully electric powertrain that boasts big

Improvements over BMW’s current setup the company’s not going into huge detail on the powertrain but it comes with new and now round lithium ion battery cells with 20% higher energy density than before it now has an 800 volt system that improves charging speed by up to 30% which should allow vehicles to add

300 km of range in just 10 minutes in fact it has 30% more range than before according to BMW and overall efficiency has improved by 25% for more information on the BMW Vision Noya class X concept head to carsguide Au

BMW is about to enter its next generation, which will be headlined by a fresh family of fully electric vehicles that are based on the same all-new EV platform. Our first taste of what’s to come came via the Vision Neue Klasse, a sedan concept that was revealed at the Munich motor show in September 2023.

But now the Vision Neue Klasse X has made its debut. It’s an SUV concept that’s also of the mid-size variety and while closely related to the sedan, it goes its own way with several unique design elements. Either way, it previews the successor to the BMW iX3 – although it may not end up using the same nameplate – and will go head to head with the just-revealed Porsche Macan EV.

In this video, CarsGuide Managing Editor Tim Nicholson heads to Portugal to get up close and personal with the Vision Neue Klasse X ahead of the production model breaking cover in 2025. Critically, it will bring with it a new-generation EV powertrain that will deliver longer driving ranges and quicker charging times, among other advancements.
