Walkaround | Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+
This is the all-new Mercedes-AMG E 53 HYBRID 4MATIC+. I am Sabine, the product manager of this great car. Today, I want to show you my personal highlights. Let us start with the exterior of the car. The first eye-catcher, the AMG exclusive colour Opalith white magno, gives the car an even more expressive look.
The AMG crest on the bonnet is already familiar from other AMG models. For the E 53 with the Night Package II, it comes in a dark chrome variant. The E 53 sports the AMG-specific illuminated radiator grille as standard, for an even more progressive look, especially at night.
As you see, the chrome elements can be darkened with the Night packages. The AMG front apron, with the air intakes and the diffusor, gives the car an even sportier character. Let us take a look under the hood. For the E 53, we developed the P2 hybrid drivetrain.
The electric motor is located between the combustion engine and the transmission. This is the main difference with the P3 hybrid, known from the C 63 S, for example. This drivetrain achieves the perfect combination between performance and range. This makes it the first AMG hybrid that breaks the 100-kilometre mark.
Speaking of performance, in Race start we can call up 612 hp, which is comparable to the former E 63 S. This means this car sprints from 0 to 100 in 3.8 seconds, very impressive! Its wider body at the front makes the E 53 look even more expressive.
In my opinion, these 21-inch forged wheels are the perfect match for this car. The red brake callipers are part of the optional DYNAMIC PLUS package. This also includes an electronic differential lock and dynamic engine mounts for even more fun on curvy roads.
My personal highlight: We now offer the door handles in dark chrome, which is pretty cool because our customers often requested this feature. Just like the exterior, the interior of the E 53 represents our approach to sportiness. Let us have a look. The optional Performance seats are a real eye-catcher
And offer optimum support in every situation. They feature the AMG crest in the front headrest if you choose leather Nappa. The sportiness is underlined by our AMG Performance steering wheel with the AMG buttons – here in carbon MICROCUT look. Another interior highlight is the optional Superscreen.
Together with the central display, it offers a continuous surface and more space for AMG-specific content. The panoramic roof provides an even more spacious feeling in the interior. One characteristic of the rear is the spoiler lip, which is standard for the E 53. You get this in carbon in combination with the Carbon package.
The Night package II includes all trim and badge elements in dark chrome. The E 53 badge features a red background to clearly identify it as a hybrid. The AMG-specific diffusor and the two round twin-tail pipes complete the high-performance look of the E 53.
With the E 53, we created a car that looks sporty and elegant at the same time. Plus, it is excellent for daily driving thanks to its hybrid drivetrain. Its powerful setup offers you driving performance at all times, from inner city driving to the highway to mountain passes.
