Walkaround | The all-new Mercedes-AMG G 63
Hi AMG and G-Class Community. My name is Viola and I’m the Product Manager of the G 63. I have the pleasure to show you some of my highlights of this car right here: the all-new Mercedes-AMG G 63. So come and join me. Now let’s start with the exterior.
Besides that striking new paintwork, that we call MANUFAKTUR hyper blue magno and which is only available for the AMG models, the most notable difference of the G 63 happens here at the front with the redesigned front bumper. As you can see, we brought in on both sides vertical fins,
Giving the car an overall more dynamic stance compared to the previous model. The newly optional AMG Carbon Package containing some striking components in carbon. As the inserts in the bumpers, the inlays in the protective strip, the mirror caps and the spare wheel cover, just to name a few,
Are significantly underlining the performance of the G 63. Moreover, you can optionally get the running boards as well as the AMG-specific exhaust system in black. Another thing we are really proud of is right here. The AMG crest on the hood.
This one is in dark chrome as it is part of the AMG Night Package, too. But we brought in even more AMG branding on the car. Now the AMG crest is illuminated in the exterior mirror projection and the AMG fuel cap is on every G 63.
Okay, let’s have a look under the hood. We kept our V8 biturbo engine with 430 kW and 850 Nm of torque. This engine is hand-built as can be seen here. Our “One Man – One Engine” badge. In comparison to the previous model, we added an integrated starter generator with 48-volt technology.
Giving the G 63 positive effects on efficiency and also an extra boost of up to 200 Nm of additional torque. With the AMG Performance Package, the G 63 can now tackle the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in only 4.3 seconds. One of our major highlights is the optional AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL Suspension.
That takes the on-road and off-road performance of the G 63 to the next level and provides a gain in comfort. This system with active hydraulic roll stabilisation leads to a higher roll stiffness, hence to a much better on-road performance. While being in the off-road driving programmes
The level of roll stiffness can be set on “LOW”, therefore the G 63 can be interlocked completely. Together with the optional AMG Offroad Package PRO come two new driving modes. AMG Active Balance Control and AMG Traction PRO. With them roll stiffness can be adjusted and maximum traction generated – independent of the ground.
So, the G 63 continues driving where others must turn around. Let’s start with the interior. Here you see the newest generation of the AMG Performance steering wheel, completed with the AMG Touch Control Buttons. With the AMG Touch Control Buttons you can adjust nearly all AMG specific functions.
For example, changing the driving mode from “Comfort” to “Sport+” without shifting your focus off the street. Also, our AMG carbon trim part got a nice makeover. Now the whole centre console is in carbon. As you can see, our brand-new G 63 fascinates on every terrain,
