2025 Mercedes-Benz GLC350e Plug-In Hybrid: Coming to America First Look!
It isn’t typical that we bring you a first look of a vehicle we’ve already driven after all wasn’t that the first look the drive in this case we drove the Mercedes-Benz GLC 300E plug-in hybrid late last year in Europe not knowing whether it was destined for our shores
As it turns out the gas electric GLC class is coming to America albeit with a name change to GLC 350e it’s otherwise exactly the same me mechanically as the euromarket version to recap that means the GLC 350e carries over the GLC 300E turbocharged 2.0 L I4

Of EV only driving range it speeds up to 87 mph a figure that would be staggering if it weren’t estimated using the ever optimistic European wltp test cycle but even guesstimating that range figure down to a more realistic EPA derived number in the mid 60 m space would put

The off-road mode is EV only Power should be strong though there is a more powerful version of this GLC offered overseas that’s even stronger it’s also less efficient as its power boost comes from a more powerful gas engine the GLC 350e is also expected to be quite a bit
Heavier than regular gas-fed gc’s nearly 1,000 lb heavier in fact at least that poundage includes strong compared to regular gc’s standard equipment namely heated front seats a power opening tailgate navigation Dual Zone automatic climate control ambient lighting and safety gear such as blind spot monitoring automated emergency braking
Parking assists and automatic high beams three trim levels will be offered from the standard to a mid-level exclusive which adds a burm audio system more safety features and extra ambient lightning to the range topping Pinnacle streaming music and video on board a head-up display fancier lighting still and insulated glass final pricing range
And efficiency figures will be released closer to the GLC 350 on sale date mid 2024 but look for the plugin bends to be a strong Contender against the Volvo’s XC60 t85 and lexus’s rx450h plus plug-in both of which offer fewer than 40 m of EV only range and lack DC fast charging capability
