New BMW X2 review: Cancel your Macan!

New BMW X2 review: Cancel your Macan!

This is the new BMW X2 and it’s a little bit like a sports fleece you see a sport fleece is a bit sleeker a little less practical than a normal baggy fleece and this BMW X2 is based on the more practical BMW X1 but yet again it’s

Sleeker a little less practical but at the end of the day a sports fleece is still a fleece and this is still a small SUV so should you just go for the normal fleece or the normal X1 instead of the X2 well in this video we’re going to

Find out because I’m going to talk you around the exterior design sort got a faing going on I’m going to show you inside BMW back to making their steering wheels too fat I’m going to check out it technology particularly good for someone like me that’s not great at reversing

We’re going to see just how practical it is or isn’t yeah that’s no good is it I am going to take it for a drive um that could get me a ticket I’m going tell you what’s good about it yes yes yes yes yes yes what’s not

Good about it it’s like some juice honking and of course I’m going to launch it to see how quick it is from not to 60 MPH I’m out Watson you’re watching carw let’s start this video by talking about the design of the X2 or in this particular case the ix2 because it’s the

Electric version but visually pretty much the same thing now from the back I quite like it you sloping tow gate this one has extended spoiler as part of the mport package however if I stare at it too long these s look like eyes that’s nose and then this is like some terrible

Mono brow sort got a face thing going on so I’m a bit undecided moving down the side it’s the same story when I look at it in some ways I think oh that looks a bit dull but then at other times I think actually it’s quite cool the shape of

That you know the sloping roof line this kind of coupo like SUV it’s not really that jacked up is it to tell you the truth terms of wheel sizes they started 19 they rise up to 21 in if you go for the M light version which is known as what M35 I the

M35i I don’t know why I D that I’ve been in the game long enough to know that it’s going to be called that anyhow I do like the door handles so some manufacturers do flush door handles that are just a bit harder to operate than these ones which are really easy now

Even though this car shares most of its parts with the X1 the only bit that they actually share on the outside is this well not just this there’s one on the other side obviously the door mirrors you’ll see here we’ve got red brake calipers once again that is part of the

M sport package and if we move to the very front another part of that is this blacks around for the grill depending on which version you go for the grills do look slightly different as standard all models do get LED headlights but you can upgrade to Matrix LEDs which will blank

Out part of their beam and once again from the front in some ways I like it such as this indentation in the Bonet like on an M3 but then in other ways I just think it might be a bit too fussy with all this stuff going on it’s

Definitely the kind of car that makes you think you look at it go oh no that’s not really good and then at other times you think actually it’s a little bit different it’s quite cool oh here’s a little clip of the grill surround lighting up at night oh yes I’m not sure

Like that either I just can’t make my mind of about this car it’s definitely a bit unusual looking now let’s move on to the pricing so the X2 petrol version starts at just over £440,000 there’s an average saving of over £2,000 off one however the electric version the ix2 is

Quite a bit more expensive it starts from over £51,000 this one which is the X Drive 30 ix2 with options £65,000 I don’t think I like the look of it at all anymore let’s move on buying a new or used car then you need to visit carw

Just click on the pop out Banner that should be appearing up there right now alternatively just Google help me carw and my team and I will help you choose your perfect car and get it for a price your love now on with the video I’ve got

To say I do like the interior design of this X2 the dash is kind of cool the way you’ve got the infotainment screen that’s curved and the infotainment screen itself it’s fairly responsive look at that and the colors are bright enough and there’s loads of information

On there but it can get a little bit confusing all these apps I mean what you’re going to do anyway is use your phone Apple carplay Android auto both of which are Wireless rather than using the manufacturer system I do wish that the climate control was done through actual

Physical buttons and dials and stuff but it’s not that hard to just quickly whip through like that and change your temperature go into the seat like that but if you want to do the fan you then have to do that come on and go into that

Menu which is probably a step too far when you just want to be able to turn it up or down quickly what you can do quickly though is windscreen D or back window defrost right let’s move on to this panel here cuz I do like the digital drivers display in the latest

BMWs because they are so configurable you can change the look and what content is displayed there and the layout of it as well just so many choices that is really really good and this particular car has a heads up display as well which I like I always appreciate a heads up

Display rather than looking down at the dolls it is just safer and sort of go somewhere making up for the fact that you spend quite a lot of time looking at the screen operating different menus more than that in a bit first I want to talk about the quality in here because

While the starting price might be £40,000 this particular car £65,000 you’re going to think that everything feels Tip Top and generally like the materials up here that’s nice squidgy soft Stitch Dash this panel here which you can actually get in three other finishes than that you got ambient light

In there as well which looks pretty cool and also on here it’s like softly touchy stuff material now I would say leather but it’s not it’s a vegan plastic which does a good job of mimicking leather it’s called what’s it called Leganza Leganza wasn’t that a Renault like the

1990s Rena Leganza anyway it’s nice you can get leather but what’s the point when this feels so good however if you want the twoone effect you’re going to have to pay extra and if you want the real sporty seats like these which are body hugging and very comfortable you

Have to pay extra for that M sport package cuz that’s what they come as that also includes this sporty M steering wheel unfortunately it’s too fat it’s just too fat BMW back to making their steering wheels too fat the M sport package also includes the lovely

Truckula on the seat belts that is nice I do like that feature what I’m not so keen on is this that is one nasty cheap feeling indicator stock in other BMWs and in BMWs in the past those stalks are always nicely dumped another thing where I think they’ve cheaped out a little bit

The window switches they just feel really horrible almost like they’re from a prototype not an actual production vehicle oh dear it’s as though BMW taking a leaf out Mercedes book and cheaping out on certain bits of material and bits of material that you touch regularly which is a bad idea here

Another thing is these seats while there is a lot of adjustment in them and the seating position is good they’re manually operated in a £65,000 car there’s a lot of adjustment in the steering wheel but once again it’s manually operated but you know you’d expect that the seats surely you get

Electric for 65 Grand all in for this car anyhow let’s move on to storage so here’s a bit of a problem this center console has clearly been designed for a leftand drive car and they haven’t flipped it over for right drive cars and I know that because of this that’s great isn’t

It you have to go L out when I’m driving to get whatever’s in there also it means that this the drive select for going into gear or reverse would be closer to you which is where you want it rather than over the other side they should

Have flipped that for the UK Market I mean come on anyway moving down here look there is loads of storage underneath here which which is very very handy you’ve also got huge cup holders I’ll get a bottle look you can fit a big bottle in there and while we’re doing a

Bottle test let’s go to the door bins which are very large as well so that’s super practical and the glove box is an okay size not going to get carried away and say it’s massive it’s just all right what’s not all right is this there’s your wireless charging pad

For your mobile phone but this is not standard you have to pay extra for that comes as part of the tech pack that’s Madness isn’t it moving down here if you don’t have the wireless charging at least you have two USBC charging ports there and your 12vt socket up there

There’s this as well which does annoy me 65,000 I keep on going on about that don’t I but the material on the sun visor just feels really rather budget I mean for a long time now BMW has had the most expensive feeling Interiors out of all its competitors but there are

Certain areas I’m starting to see in this generation of car when it’s like they’re taking a slight step backwards it’s not good anyway let’s check out the back seats the rear seats feel a little bit snug it’s for two reasons so Headroom if you look at that I think

People over 6 foot will find it quite tight knee room is actually all right but the problem I have is down here and I think it’s just relating to the iix version of the X2 not the normal vehicle because there’s the batteries underneath the actual floor in this car so I think

It means these foot Wells are shallower as a result look my knees are higher up than I’d like there’s not much under thigh spot even though this seat base is quite deep it also means you can’t really stretch out underneath the seat in front so you can’t get as comfortable

As you might like even though there is the option of being able to recline your seat a little bit like that shame also when it comes to caring through in the back out once it feels quite narrow the body and the people in the outer seats are going to have their heads touching

This slightly curved part of the roof also the person in the Middle look at this I’ll show you yeah that’s no good is it no good at all do you know what I do think that the next one just feels more spacious and is more practical in the back and if you

Want to see my full in- depth video review of that car click on the pop out banner up there or follow the QR code which will be showing on the screen right now are carrying a baby seat Well the ice fixed angle points are really

Easy to get to and you can squeeze in a bulky rear facing seat in the back here just about now these rear seats split 40 40 20 so if I pull this toggle down here I can lower the central seat for plenty of through loading space oops put that

Back and here’s your armrest but the cup holders are exposed are they big for a big ball o just bit of a squeeze however you could always store that if I can hold it where’s it gone come back you can always store it in there well it’s quite a tight

Fit however the door bins are really nice and large here in the back just want to test this do the rear windows go all the way down I would say that is a pass now down here we have a couple of USB C’s and a sort of shelf area which

I’m not sure what he will use that for well I like the way you open the boot on this ix2 it’s like you used to do on old Volkswagen golfes use the badge now the boot capacity on this particular car is 525 L however if you have the

M35i you got more space 560 L you’re probably thinking that’s because you haven’t got batteries and stuff underneath the fce floor weirdly though if you just go for the basic level petrol the one with a 1.5 L petrol engine the boot capacity on that is like

515 l so less than this electric version anyway it’s a bit confusing now there is a bit of a load lip to lift things over like that see oh God might do some damage to that and underneath here you do have some storage which is obviously where you’re going to keep your cables

While this boot is actually slightly larger than on an X1 the space is not quite so useful because it’s squarer on the X1 than this is’s a little look at it anyhow let’s have a look what we’ve got in here we’ve got some netage there we’ve got your 12vt socket there little

Hook there hand things off but if I want to fall down the rear seats I can’t do it from here I’m going to have to go around and do it from the side here with those little tags that used to recline the seats so this does take a we while it’s

Not the end of the world but it is a little bit annoying and now the three-way folding means it takes even longer you haven’t got a completely flat load floor if you look at that but it’s not terrible there’s not too much of a step up there you go things are

Will slide down will they no it’s going to prove me wrong but you get the general idea it’s reasonably practical it’s not perfect but there is something else I want to show you you know how a Tesla Model y has a very useful front boot for some added storage well check

Out the one on this bmd W ix2 just underneath this cover I’ll lift this up no idea wait a minute that’s one of the problems with BMW strategy of building its electric cars on platforms that also have internal combustion engine models also the Tesla Model Y is less expensive

Than the ix2 if you want to see my full and it f review of a Tesla Model y click on the pop out banner up there or follow the QR code which should be appearing on your screen right now anyway that brings on to five annoying things about this

Car there are too many features hidden in sub menus so in the past when you wanted to change driving mode in a BMW it was a single button press now there you have to go into my modes and then go into the touch screen and move across

And if you’ve got sport with the stability in its halfway house you then have to activate that to say yes I understand that I’ll have reduced stability control also if you want to go into other menus you have to press this button down here and then you can go into the driver assistance

Systems and this brings me on to another thing the speed limit warning faults to on even if you turn it off function will be reactivated upon next start for legal reasons so next time you turn the car on that is going to come on same with Lane departure warning they’re just default

To on which is really annoying ah other thing as well look at this even the light setting you have to go into submenu here there we go now going to the lights and I can choose a different setting for the lights oh why so many submenus have a look at this these side

Skirts they do look good where they stick out very sporty however the downside of that is look you end up bashing your ankles or your calves against them when you’re getting in and out now if they’re dirty like they are now you’re going to end up rubbing the

Backs of your TR and legs on them and they’ll get covered in dirt eventually look I got bit of dirt on there oh yeah the parcel shelf is rather big look you know what that means there’s going to be no way way of fitting it underneath this boot floor for storing

It when you’re driving this is not for fitting is it and you can’t fit it that way in the boot and it’s so large that yes you can just about fit it like that after people say maybe you can put it inside the car but it’s just so huge

There’s no real place for it so I suppose your only option really to leave it like and hopefully if You’ got boxes you don’t end up breaking it but there’s a chance that you might put something heavy on there now a lot of electric cars have creaky brakes it’s not actually the brakes

Themselves it’s the regen effect and it’s particularly bad on this car have I listened to this it’s like some Goose honking that’s not very becoming of a car that’s supposedly from a premium brand is it there is no re wiper on the back window so when it rains and it gets

All dirty there’s no way clearing it off which isn’t great cuz that will just reduce the visibility at the back window see what I mean you’re going to have to do it with your hand like that it’s not ideal however it’s not all bad because when it comes to cleaning something else

B would we’ve got it right look here there’s the reversing camera but it has a little washer there as you can see the reversing camera is covered in Grime and that will blast it clean so we give it a go going to menu on the camera function

And you select cleaning mode W that’s one seriously strong jet definitely does the job okay so I’ve just noticed a bit of a problem with that system it looks like someone has started to clean this car look at it all down there but hasn’t been bothered to

Finish the job so now it’s actually going to need cleaning oh and actually come in now look it doesn’t appear to have actually washed the camera completely clean because if I did my finger you will see that is actually how you want it okay so maybe that feature isn’t as good

As I first thought it was the car is constantly remembering your steering input so as I’m driving around here getting close to these trees but not touching them going to S the car’s paint work it knows exactly where I’m driving so imagine that this wasn’t just in a

Field with some trees but I was on like some narrow City street and then all of a sudden I meet someone coming the opposite way they don’t want to reverse up I don’t really want to reverse up but I do have an ace at my sleeve and it’s

BMWs reversing assistant so what it’s going to do is basically play my steering in reverse and I don’t actually have to do anything besides just control the accelerator and the brake and it should take the car on the exact path that I came in on really really useful

This is and it’s constantly doing this in the background so whenever you need it it is right there for you particularly good for someone like me that’s not great at reversing no reason to get into an argument if you come head-to-head with someone and you need

To back up because this car just makes it super easy look job done and everyone’s happy the X2 comes with an inbuilt dash cam system so there’s a little camera just behind here looking forward another one here looking backwards and if you have an accident it’ll record that accident on a

USB now if you have the upgraded surround view parking system you can actually use those cameras as well and you can record them onto the USB stick you go from front and rear to all camera systems which is very good also for some reason there’s some added functionality

For this camera here so if I go into interior camera you can use it to actually take photos like that or if you want to you can do a video hello I’m not sure it’s recording audio I don’t think it is should we find out there’s the photo yay there’s the

Video oh no it doesn’t seem like there’s any audio I’m not sure why you’d bothered with this feature but there’s ice fix on the front passenger seat and there’s a parent of a young child I think that is really useful because then you can have them next to you if there’s

No one else in the car you can play video games on the car’s entertainment screen it has a bunch of them built in and you connect to it with your phone and use that as a controller look there’s my little creature I’m just I don’t know what I’m doing there there we

Go let’s go down there let’s bash my way through there oh yes yes yes yes yes yes it’s not great using your phone as the controller but soon you’re going to be able to connect with either a PlayStation or an Xbox controller which will be much better having said that

Though uh I’m not convinced how many people are actually going to use this maybe it’s just a gimmick it is quite cool though there are two different versions of the BMW X2 let’s start with internal combustion engine models so there’s the 20i which has a 1.5 L turbocharged petrol engine front-wheel

Drive 170 horsepower 7-speed automatic gearbox then there’s the m35i the sporty version with a 2 L turbocharged petrol Engine with 300 horsepower that also has a 7-speed automatic gearbox but it has four-wheel drive then there’s the two electric versions The i2s so that starts off with

The 20 it has a single electric motor at the front with 204 horsepower then there’s this version the 30 which has two electric motors so it’s four-wheel drive and a combined power output of 313 horsepower so it is the most powerful model now both electric versions have a

65 kwh battery pack and a range of up to 283 Mi on a single charge but which version of the BMW X2 would I go for will it be an internal combustion engine one or the electric one I’m going to configure my ideal car right now using

The car configurator if you want to find out which version I’ve gone for the trim level and how much you can save on it through car just click on the pop out Banner appearing in the top right hand corner of the screen now or the QR code

Which is on the screen now just use your phone to follow that to the link to our configurator right let’s see what this I2 is like to drive I’m going to start off in town so the cars in the UK all come with BMW use M adaptive Sports I’ve activated the voice controls

Here are the habits cancel it’s as bad as Mercedes now anyhow they all get M adaptive sport suspension which lows The Ride by 50 mm what’s the point of building a car that’s jacked up over a normal hatchback and then lowering it down slightly anyhow it does have a

Slightly firm sporty Edge to it but not in a bad way more in a way that makes the car feel expensive and solid one thing I don’t like so much though are the brakes so they just seem inconsistent the first part you’re breaking obviously is regen and it’s all

A bit squidgy and it’s not that natural feeling what you can do is put the car into B mode and then you can do full one pedal driving so I’ve lifted off the accelerator there and look the car will actually come to a complete stand still

The problem I have with that is that as soon as you left off the accelerator the initial regen braking is so abrupt it’s almost like you just stamped on the brakes it could do it blending in a little bit smoother now let’s try the Turning Circle so it’s 11.7 m I’ve got

All the cameras so I’m going to use those now to do this maneuver we’re causing a little bit of a blockage probably should have had more fiber but look you can see I can get around here can I get around the van going to be using this it’s going to be

Really important to see if I can get around the van the green suggests yes yeah we got there that’s good just about made it turning circle on this though it isn’t quite as good as a smart hashtag one that has a turning circle of 11 M so you can do slightly tighter turns

Speaking of which the visibility in a smart hashtag one is quite a bit better so you got a huge blind spot here I mean look at all of that the worst thing though is the view out the back window it’s like a little letter box and if you’re like filtering at Junctions like

That and you want to look over your shoulder see what traffic is coming from that diagonal part that rear part there there’s a huge back pillar which just that is the worst blind spot on this car it is not great why is the car constantly looking for a parking space

It’s cuz I pressed that button go away actually let’s try it in a parking space parking search active Okay so down here there’s a potential spot does it think it’ll fit in there I mean look surely oh here we Go you can hear those brakes going and groaning can’t you the only thing is I think it’s sort of lined it up on top of the curb just drop down off the curb please please then it’s a win done it let’s see how close I’m to the

Curb oh dear I seem to be a little bit on the curb I think because it’s such a low curb it doesn’t recognize it as a curb um that could get me a ticket let’s try another space now I can press this button here

To get me out the space there we go off we go it’s doing everything for me even the indicator that’s brilliant hear that gruning sound again I maneuver completed I done it it want me to pull out probably that’s a legal thing so that it doesn’t pull itself out into

Traffic I am now responsible okay let’s go for another little parking maneuver see if we can do a nice little drop into that spot here look for the spot there is definitely a spot there we just gone past it there Legend now I can reverse Park in there I

Can make it Park forwards obviously reverse Park would you here we go now I tried this system on an X6 and it just didn’t work at all no it wants to park me over there this is not the parking space and then BMW’s head office watched the video and

Got really crossed cuz they reckoned the problem was the fact that we had one of our cameras near one of the parking sensors which was confusing the whole system and I have to say based on what’s Happening Now with this particular car they were right it’s actually pretty

Good I don’t think this has probably lined up as best as it could have or as I would have done and I’m not the best Parker cuz it’s sort of got level with that van but that Van’s at a wonky angle and I’m not level with the curb and I’m

Not equidistant between the two vehicles I still think that a human is going to do it better okay I’m going to try myself if I can actually do it better this would be totally embarrassing if I fail I’ll freely admit that I not the best at parking cars and I don’t know

What it is with BMWs but I seem to park them worse than any other vehicle despite all the surround view cameras so let’s see what we can do oh bugger come on you can’t wait there you are definitely going to have to drive can you just you can just pull in

Just pull in there didn’t want to move you can go in there maybe you want to go in there you going to go in there where you going what’s going on what’s Happening oh you’re going to go in there are you no just move forward a little bit just a little

Bit that’s it you watch your take my parking space now right I’m going to park over here instead that just ruined that entire example oh funny as heck couldn’t make it up I’m totally blocking a doorway but but here we go I think I’ve probably done that a little

Bit better than the car but got that noise really that just sounds awful let’s find out from Lewis whether that is actually better leis did I park better than the car I think you did one n humans one thing I do like though is the regen breaking when it’s

In adaptive mode what it does is uses the radar in front of you and if you’re getting close to the car in front it will provide more regen braking but as that car goes away it relaxes it so if there’s no car really in front of you

And you lift off the car feels very much like a normal automatic internal combustion engine car in the way that it decelerates so it’s super smooth yeah once again I’m going to get really close to this I’m lifting off see the braking there it’s that line there now it’s

Backing off because the car’s pulling away from me whereas if I’m just like accelerating now and I lift off it’s not going to be too extreme can you see but it’s noticed now that I’m going down the hill and was accelerating so it’s providing a bit more regen braking and

Now it’s backing off again very very good very intuitive excellent system but I’m going to show you the problem when you have it in B mode if you’re driving along at high speed almost like you’re just stamping on the brake watch this now lifting off the accelerator now bang

It’s almost too sudden it doesn’t give you enough time to get your right foot onto the brake let’s get out of that anyway let’s get back into adaptive cuz I like that now let’s test the pickup I’m doing 40 m hour we coming to dual carriageway I’m going to floor it we’ll

See how quick it is 3 2 1 flooring it now that is fairly quick however I wonder if I was to slow down and now go into sport mode see if it’s quicker this time ready 3 2 1 go no it feels the same just get a slightly different noise now when you’re

Traveling at speed you do get a little bit of road noise little bit of wind noise from here but not bad it’s quite well insulated this car at speed that suspension which felt a bit sporty actually feels really really nice and secure it’s comfy the chairs help they’re comfy too terms of the

Efficiency so this thing on a run was averaging 3.3 m per kwatt hour now the claim range on this car is supposed to be like 266 miles on a full charge but when I multiply that actual efficiency well at least according to the car’s trip computer if we believe what it’s

Saying multiply that out by the battery capacity of 65 KW hours then you get a real world range of 240 mil which is about 80% of what BMWs say in fact BMW say this car should have an efficiency of about 3.6 to 3.7 m per kwatt hour so

We’re not miles away from that and it’s okay now let’s see if this BMW is any fun to drive in sports mode you’ve also got a different steering profile so maybe a bit more responsive feels a bit heavier though I do think this steering feels a little bit weird for the first

Bit you move it because it doesn’t really do anything at first but then you turn it a bit more it’s really darting into a corner so it can feel a little bit flighty anyhow what is impressive is the way this thing grips the road it does go around corners really really

Well and once you’re used to that slightly weird steering it’s actually pretty direct and responsive look at this around here oh Auto breaking I could go around much quicker than him and then of course you’ve got instant Torque from those electric motors loads of traction cuz you got four-wheel drive

You can rip this thing down a country road at a surprising rate actually handles really well if there is one thing overall the suspension isn’t quite as soft and costing as a Volvo ex30 and if you want to see my full in- depth video review of that car click on the

Pop out Banner or follow the QR code which will be appearing on the screen right now so just use your phone to follow that you can watch that video surprising how well this thing goes around corners actually it’s definitely one of the more sporty feeling of these

EV Jack hatchback thing is and he goes around corners with a sporty feel without absolutely bouncing all over the place like a Tesla Model wi does I think BMW definitely had the edge over Tesla when it comes to driving Dynamics now all they need to do is be as good when

It comes to battery efficiency and they’re onto a winner BMW says the I30 should do not to 60 in 5.6 seconds let’s find out going to launch IT specialist timing gear up here we’ll time it launch control is active always doing the vibrating thing o picks up really

Well there we go 5.49 on the money it’s really funny how it does that with the wheels it like shakes them so you get this sensation of anticipation and excitement as the car’s like straining at the leash ready to launch clever how they did that so then what’s my final verdict on

The BMW X2 should you avoid it should you consider it should you short list it or should you just go right ahead and buy it well I reckon you should consider the X2 you see just like with the X4 compared to the X3 the X6 compared to

The X5 you’re better off going for the less expensive more practical version of the car so yeah get an X1 instead of an X2 it’s that simple hey if you enjoyed the video please give it a like it really helps us out and let me know what

You think of my verdict on this car in the comments below if you click on the video Windows you can watch some more videos and if you click on the carwow logo you you can get a car W to see how much money you can save on your next car thanks for watching

This is the BMW X2!

Mat’s got his hands on the electric edition of this all-new coupe-style SUV from BMW to see if it can match up with class leaders like the Tesla Model Y and Volvo EX30.

So for starters, let’s check out the design. Naturally, the electric edition of the X2 looks the same as the petrol-powered car. There’s a sloping roofline coupled with an extended spoiler around the back, while the side profile is identical to the petrol-powered car. Wheel sizes range from 19 to 21 inches, and around the front this electric edition comes with a blanked-out grille that even lights up at night! We’re also a big fan of the indentation on the bonnet to help make it that little bit more aggressive.

Step inside and the iX2 is a lovely car to sit in. There’s a curved infotainment & digital dial display, with the latter being super customisable. There are soft-touch materials throughout most of the cabin, and the seats are pretty comfortable as well. It’s just a shame that they come with manual adjustment buttons, especially when you consider this car could cost more than £65,000! It’s also a shame that the climate controls are done through the infotainment screen instead of having physical buttons, but they’re still relatively easy to use.

If you’re looking for a petrol-powered X2, there are two versions available. The 20i comes with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that can deliver 170hp and comes with front-wheel drive. Then there’s the M35i, which comes with a 2-litre turbo engine that offers 300hp along with four-wheel drive! If you want to go electric, the entry-level iX2 comes with a single motor and 204hp, while the xDrive 30 has dual motors and can put down 313hp. Both iX2s come with a 65kWh battery pack and a claimed range of around 283 miles.

The entry-level X2 starts at around £42,000, while the cheapest iX2 starts at around £51,000. However, if you go for a range-topper and add a couple of options, you can expect to be spending more than £65,000 on one! So is it worth it? You’ll need to stick with Mat and see for yourself!
