2024 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring Edition Plug in Hybrid | Complete Review | with Casey Williams

Hey everybody it’s Casey Williams this week I’m driving the 2024 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring plug-in hybrid let me tell you what it is and isn’t it is based on the Ford Escape it isn’t cheap but it might just be worth it let’s go have a look to me all the Lincoln

Crossovers look basically the same but actually works out okay for the smaller Corsair there’s the Corsair there’s the Nautilus and then you got The Aviator the top of that scale and then the navigator at the top and honestly they have all the same style and elements but

I think it looks really sophisticated on the smallest crossover I like the grill I like the little the blue Lincoln logo here with the back that tells you to plug in hybrid the little logos here too I think it looks really cool it’s very sporty LED headlamps come around the

Side 20-in Wheels the only thing you would really know that sets this apart is the little door here on the fender where you plug in like the coar air here on the side everything about it just looks really sporty almost looks a little bit British

Um but I think look really nice too like the floating roof here in the back course being a Lincoln lots of chrome I think works out really well on it C on the bag thin wraparound tail lamps power hatch and there’s not as much luggage space as you might want for five

Passengers four passengers probably more often in the vehicle but there’s enough and the back seats do split fold down so you get bicycles and and another bigger gear inside if you look really hard in the cabin you might find some hints of for escape but really it just feels like

A downsize Lincoln Navigator and I think that’s really nice and very unique in this class it really starts with Lincoln’s trademark seats these are heated they’re ventilated but it has the the Dual adjustable bottom cushion so you can set it very easy to get comfortable in them you got heated seats

In the back a nice thick heated leather steering wheel soft leather the twin panel sunroof up above just again everything just feels really upscale I like all the Crome on the dash I like the the stitch in here as well and kind of aluminum look again everything just

Feels like it’s very very premium and also you like other Lincoln you got the piano key gear selectors here in the middle the start start stop buttons right here as well um touchcreen widescreen very intuitive very easy to use for all the climate controls audio easy to connect the phones we got

Wireless carplay wireless Android auto and also phone charging down here in the center console as well so very easy to get connected very easy to get comfortable some other nice technology I like this does have the Revel audio system sounds absolutely superb in this little car I like the nice flat screen instrument

Cluster and this does have a heads up display so you’ve got speed you’ve got your navigation directions all the safety gear can be monitored from out there as well and it does have quite a bit of safety gear on it you’ve got adaptive cruise beyond that you actually

Have the hands off um Ford blue Cruise system so you can take your hands off on the wheel out the highway and select roads so I think that’s very cool as well but beyond that again dective Cruise Lane keep assist blind spot warning rear cross path detection pretty much full suet of safety

Tech I really like driving the LI corn this week and one of the things I really like is the fact that is a plug-in hybrid you a lot of people want an electric car they’re thinking about an electric car but just aren’t sure that they want to try to find a charging

Station or you know try to keep up with on a daily basis and they just worry about the range of the vehicle and find somewhere there on the highway well this takes care of a lot of that so you get 28 miles all electric range after you

Plugged it in I have a home charger I plugged in took a few hours pretty quick so e easy overnight you know parked in the garage um you drive like I said 28 miles electric range so plug it in drive to work pick up the kids drive back home

Go to the restaurant you should have enough range for that for a lot of people um beyond that you got a gasoline engine you have a 2.5 L 4cylinder engine so it’ll start up and you can put gas in it and drive Coast to Coast if you if

You want to do that so I think that’s really nice beyond that though it feels feels far more sophisticated than you would think a Ford Escape would feel um this does have an Adaptive suspension system so it does a really good job of riding comfortably on the highway but

Also you put into a corner a little bit hard it’ll stiffen up and it feels nice there too um just constantly adjusting so it drives nice the steering’s nicely weighted you know the Lincoln’s electri car I it’s supposed to be an American American electric car and it is but it’s

Not it is not feeling is not wallowy it doesn’t you know just it just feels good to me is nice to be on the highway and nice to go find this Curby road with it so I think they’ve done a good job with that fuel economy as you expect is really really

Good um all in with the hybrid system batteries gas you’re looking about 80 m per gon equivalent but if you’re driving this as a normal hybrid it’s more like 33 mes per gallon so if you got on the car drove it on a long trip you’re kind

Of in that 33 m per gon range but overall I think it just drives nice and I like the size of it especially when you’re in an urban environment easy to park it easy to parallel park it um but does feel big enough substantial enough then you go on the highway and you’re

Driving the left lane that it feels pretty comfortable doing that as well I’ve long been a fan of the Lincoln course sir first of all Lincoln doesn’t pretend to be anything but an American luxury car maker doesn’t try to be German doesn’t try to be Korean Japanese

Or anything else it’s very proud of its Heritage and you feel that in the course there it feels like a smaller version of a big Lincoln it’s very comfortable it’s beautifully styled it’s got all the technology especially the plug-in hybrid system and it’s really just a joy to be

In and all that and not sloppy it’s still a very fun car to drive and very enjoyable day-to-day so let’s talk about that last one is it worth the price well the Corsair starts just under $39,000 and compared to the Audi and the Mercedes and BMWs I think it’s very

Competitive that price this one all in with the Grand Touring package and plugin hybrid and everything else on it $67,100 that is not cheap for compact crossover but this comes off as far more than a Ford Escape and I think if you paid that for it I think you’d really

Like having it well next week what another fun car till then storm forward
