The Volvo EX30 is everywhere right now… and for good reason. It’s the biggest launch in the brand’s history and it has the potential to create a real stir in the electric car market. A multi-award winner even before it landed with customers, the baby electric Volvo certainly arrives with a strong reputation.
But is it really as good as it seems? To find out, we pitched the EX30 against its nearest rival – the Hyundai Kona Electric 65kWh. With 319 miles of WLTP range, futuristic styling and bags of equipment, the Korean machine is a firm favourite here at Electrifying.com.
The Volvo is a bit smaller than the Hyundai, has a 64kWh battery, 295 miles of range and looks pretty swish. It features Volvo’s controversial minimalist interior with no central speedo readout and almost all the car’s functions on the infotainment system.
