New Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid (2025 release for the U.S.): What to Expect
In this video, we’ll outline our expectations and the known details of the next-gen Hyundai Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid for the U.S. market that’s expected to join the line-up in 2025.
Borrowing the basic design of the gas model, the new Santa Fe PHEV features a boxy design with H-shaped DRLs, a slim light bar, high hood, and squarish windows. It is expected to offer 6- and 7-seat configurations, with unique interior displays for PHEV functions and an EV mode button.
The interior of the 2025 Hyundai Santa Fe PHEV is expected to include first-row Relaxation Comfort seats, dual wireless smartphone chargers, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Bose 12-speaker sound system.
Under the hood, the 2025 Santa Fe Plug-in Hybrid should combine a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, an electric motor, and a 6-speed automatic transmission, delivering 249 horsepower and a 0-62 mph time of 9.3 seconds. It is expected to offer a significant electric-only range improvement, potentially up to 50 miles.
The U.S. release is anticipated in early 2025 with prices starting around USD 47,000, competing with the Kia Sorento and Mitsubishi Outlander PHEVs.
