Great looking car! Auto and air. Such luxury. Nice chrome work! Had one myself back in the day.

  2. I’ve been looking for one for a long time. Yours looks great! Enjoy it!

That is uber cool. Not only great style but you don’t see many in that color scheme.

Keep it and drive it proudly.

My first car was a ’67 2D HT like this one and the green one yesterday. Mine was dark green on green, 289/C4, power steering, manual drums. It was 1983, I was 16, and I *hated* it. To me it was an old person’s car, may as well have been a 4D. I wanted a cool car, a muscle car or a pony car.

I got lucky – my dad had the distributor out for something, and when he reinstalled it, it didn’t grab the oil pump driveshaft, and wiped out the bearings. He and a friend dropped the pan, changed the bearings they could get to, and he sold it. I had it for a couple of weeks.

This was actually my second first car – the actual first was a bumpside F100, but my dad lent it to my uncle to go cut firewood and he blew up the rear diff. I never got to drive it.

So my third first car was a ’68 Torino GT sportsroof. Red on red, 302/FMX. That one stayed with me for a couple of years. It was OK, but still not that cool (I wound up loving them and having several more). Both sides looked like it had been driven by guard rail, and the tires on the 14″ styled steel wheels were shot and it was cheaper for my dad to swap them with a buddy for a set of plain 15″ steel wheels with fresh tires. so it looked kinda ugly and had noting to do with high performance except for the GT badges & body stripes.

I still don’t dig ’67 Galaxies that much (though I love other model years), but they have a nice nostalgia for me. I texted the green one from yesterday to my pops and asked him if it looked familiar.

Wow that appears to be a really clean example. It brings back memories of riding in my uncle’s car, including the under dash AC. Very cool!

That is NICE! My folks ought a 65 in that same color, new when I was a kid. Only kept it a year because my mother said the doors were too heavy. ☹️ Her work at the time required her to get in and out of the car a lot. I loved it, but yours is even sharper!
