Polestar 4 2025 review: Does this new electric car have the Tesla Model Y EV’s number?
The 2025 Polestar 4 is coming to shake up the establishment in the fully electric mid-size SUV segment. Yep, the new coupe-style model has got the Tesla Model Y firmly in its sights, albeit with a more premium focus in mind. As such, it finds itself as a straddler, with other rivals including the BMW iX3 and Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV.
Either way, the Polestar 4 is impressive on paper, with with single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive variants available from launch, with WLTP-rated driving range up to 610km, while the 0-100km/h sprint time is as quick as 3.8 seconds. But the thing that makes it stand out the most is its complete lack of a rear window, with a digital rearview mirror handling visibility behind the C-pillars instead.
In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Byron Mathioudakis travels to Spain to get an early taste of the Polestar 4 ahead of its Australian release date later this year.
