Electric Vehicles

I’m late to the party but we snagged the Ioniq 5

Ironically we went to look at ICE cars and simply wanted to nose at this just because I’ve always loved the crazy design. Somehow the wife fell in love with it also. From test drive to ownership in 4 days. It’s a really enjoyable vehicle overall. No major gripes just yet.

Really think the striking shape turns a lot of heads around here.

So we’re less than a week into it’s ownership and whilst I don’t have any other EV models to compare it to, we just fell in love with how much available cabin space there has been. We opted for the long range RWD model and so far I’ve only actually fully charged it once on a 150kw charger which was amazing.

The design always made me love the brevity of Hyundai to follow through since I haven’t seen anything on the road close to it. Makes it a little more special to drive just because it stands out a lot more especially at charging bays.

Ok the Bluelink companion app is just OK but it does what it needs to do. It’s given us a real nice eye opener on what is possible with vehicles these days. Granted it’s not the quickest but it’s twice as powerful as our previous car so at least, we’re able to overtake now.

We can’t wait.to start road tripping some more that’s for sure!

I love the look of the Ioniq 5. I was deciding between an Ioniq 5 and an ID4 at the end of 2023 and ended up with and ID4 because of the incredible deal I got on the ID4. The Ioniq 5 was about $6k more which was more than I’d like to spend. The Hyundai dealership also far from my house and acted scummy compared to the VW dealership.

I still love how they look though. My last car was a first gen Mazda 3 hatchback and I like the hatchback vibe.

    Good car!

They’re a nice car, futuristic lines. Looks like it rolled out of Tron. Put some miles on the car and some smiles on your face. Happy motoring.
