I know some don’t love the chrome, flashy styling and tail fins. But boy do I, I love the flare and elegance with each

I see you’ve astutely omitted the 59 Ford/Mercury, for looking even boxier and ‘older’ than the prior 58 model. 🙂 Not terrible looking cars alone, but I must believe they had to look dated at the time. Either looks better than the 57 Ford anyway, which to me is the ugliest car of the fifties.
The 59 Dodge looks great despite also still adhering to a slightly earlier styling idiom- Plymouth looks ok, but looked nicer in 57/58 with that same basic body style.
The GM cars in 59, like them or not, took the quantum leap and set the template for car styling through the 80s. Despite the exaggerated detailing, by moving the headlights down to grille level and lowering shoulder/hood lines etc. they really defined the end of the 50s look and teed up for the 60s. I personally love the full size 59 Chevy- but the 59 I happen to own (through inheritance) is the Corvette.

Unpopular opinion, I love the look of the Edsel Ranger. There’s something about the grille.

I used to think 1959 was gaudiest, ugliest year but now I’m older and appreciate them far more.

1970, 69 would be a close 2nd, 71 and 68 also great years at least for some models.

It’s hard to pick. The 1956 Lincolns were absolutely beautifully styled.

Early 50s (50-53) or mid 80s for me.

I’m with you on this one 59/60 for me too.

Edsel 59 for Oldsmobile, almost every other car brand 1958 is my year.
though I love the 58 Edsel as well sigh surprising that I am a Zoomer and my dream car is a 1958 Oldsmobile or 1957 Gaz Volga heck a 1966 Volga would do.
Sadly I lack the money and space sigh. I am however happy to find this community on reddit if I can’t own one at least I can window shop.

Cannot compete with 1959. It was the peak of fins and the largest of cars paired with them. Pure optimism.

Can I say 67-68? 67 Mustang, 67 Shelby Cobra, 68 Charger, all freaking amazing designs that anyone would love to own.

I’d say 1970 because that’s the best year Cuda and Challenger, but we had some terrible new gens that year….
I’m counting the 240Z as 1969 even though it was very late in 1969.
